Yes, I have this multi-DVD set that includes the Donner cut. Too bad one of the key scenes, where Lois learns that Clark is Superman, wasn't really fleshed out as it was in the Lester version. But remember Lester's "classic" directing gigs: "Help" and "A Hard Day's Night."It's interesting to read the inside history of the two films from the 80's. I was lucky enough to see the Richard Donner cut of the second film last year. It made a lot more sense plus cut out all the slapstick scenes that Richard Lester put in.
Definitely a darker, richer take on the character. I liked the Christopher Reeve take, particularly the first two films, but there was just a little too much over-the-top silliness. And I'm old enough to remember George Reeves, and the low-end TV version.
