Just wanted to alert everyone to some odd things going on lately concerning Art Bell.

Art Bell on his website has been a little tease and has been dropping some hints.

Recently Art posted the following on his website www.ArtBell.com

.-- .- -. -. .- - .- -.- . .- .-. .. -.. . ..--..

Decoded in Morse code it means "wannatakearide?"

when questioned on Art's twitter account about the decoded message Art did state that

"...yes it means what you think it means! That is my only comment for now."

Time will tell, just wanted to make you all aware of what going on :)
 
Ward, the question isn't whether Art Bell comes back to terrestrial radio or some internet talk forum. It's a matter of how long he plans on hanging around. Art has the nasty habit of leaving his radio gigs whenever it suits him. I hate to get invested again if he plans to pull the plug in a few months time.
 
I agree DaveM, this time however it looks legit. I think anyone who would hired Bell now would absolutely lock him into a contract and specifically be aware of his back problems,child bride problems, family problems ;)

His web site has changed yet again to a less cryptic actually spelled out

So he's return appears imminent. Some think it might be back to C2C other think he might do a show on Sirius. It's all speculation right now. Like i said if anyone was to bank roll Bell you can bet they have gone over that contract with a fine tooth comb to make sure art doesn't retire unexpectedly for the 13th time.

For me personally Art wasn't as good as UFO's Tonite! with Don Ecker but it still brings back fond memories. Hope he bring back Ghost to Ghost :)
 
If bell returns will he be the same old? The man who launched th hale bopp hoax? The man who gave johathan reed 3 interviews? The man who gave ed dames and the revese speech guy more press then they deserved? Yeah that art bell....can't wait...maybe he will work with the 3rd phase bunch....
 
Art has a special knack for making the absurd entertaining.

The Morse is a little hard to make out with the dits and dahs all run together like that (sounds like Art all right !) But yeah, wannatakearide is a good bet. :)

If you ever wondered what happened to legendary Art Bell (hamradio W6OBB), here
are some updates.

To make the long story short - On December 21, 2010, Art posted an image on his
ham radio website with the title "The Wind No Longer Blows, in the End it was
Without Direction. Long Live the Hot Air. 30" which represents sign-off when a
Ham makes his final transmission from a certain location.

There were no further c2c shows with Art after that, and many started to
elaborate different hypothesis. Will he ever return to C2C, will he transfer to
a new network or is that actually a retirement?

Mega thread was started on Coastgab.com on that note (and on other forums) on
the title "Art Bell Quits Coast" that has a spectacular 123 pages so far.

On February 1st, I was able to find Arts posting on HAMRADIO forum that ended
the speculation. Art actually retired. I've posted my finding at the
Coastgab.com forum here:

because of that, incredibly, Art himself posted on the thread directly to end
speculations once for all :)

Pasted Arts comments in the text below - thread just exploded and by the
comments it is visible how many people are still inspired by C2C that Art
created, its place in the pop culture and in radio history - Art left the door

Hi there,
I thought it would be ok to stop in here and say hi from the High Desert! I
have had so many people send me links in email that refer to a post on this site.
All is well with the Bell Family and we are doing just fine in Pahrump.

As far as Retirement is concerned it has been great having time with my Family
and my Hobby. I have learned to "never say never" but I am enjoying life.

I would be happy to try and answer any reasonable questions any of you may

The mess is indeed cleaned up finally. It is strange that something designed to
save you in a emergency can cause one.

As for Coast, the show has changed which from my point of view is a shame but
it is the right of the Host doing the show to take it in the direction they see
fit. I have had many offers to join other Networks to compete if I wished BUT I have
decided that I do not wish to destroy what I built, or what is left of it.

I really am enjoying being Retired, I can be part of my Daughter's life as she
grows and it is a blast. I do miss all of you though. I am not saying I will not pick
up a mike one day, just not this day. I learned long ago, never say never.

On May 5, 2013, Bell posted via Facebook: "I guess it is time to end any further speculation that I will return to the air any time soon. I have given (2) very solid offers a lot of thought and have turned them down. My reasons are many, though I am profoundly sad at the current state of the show, both offers would have been direct competition with Coast and anger is the wrong reason to proceed. Also I really do not want to destroy what I built despite it's current state. Asia will be in first grade in the Fall and getting up very early, I would be up late and sleeping late, I would not see much of her or Airyn. Life is short and I want to spend what I have left with my Family. I hope my friends understand..."
In June of 2013 Art Bell announced on his Facebook, his official website artbell.com would be relaunching. As of July 10, 2013 a red, white, and blue textual representation of a smiley face is being displayed on the website. The websites favicon is a picture of a grey alien.[36] As of July 11th, 2013, the smiley face has been replaced with a red, white and blue morse code script that translates to "WANNA TAKE A RIDE?".[37]

from his wiki entry...this settles it.. he will retire...bye bye bell...
 
vesvehighfolk i actually was aware of that post back in May

i would not of posted this thread if there wasn't extremely compelling evidence that something is going on with Bell right now concerning his return. Wikis are sometimes not the best place to get info.

Let me sum up what is currently known

-Art's no compete clauses from his contract with Premier Radio to not go against C2C with a competing show expired a couple of months ago.

-Art's personal website, ArtBell.com, was inactive for years. Now it's on an active server.

-Keith Rowland is his webmaster once again.(he was his webmaster forever back when Art first got online)

-Art's website clearly states "wanna take a ride?" This was Art's slogan for his brand of Talk radio at Night with these topics.
when questioned about what this meant Art himself said "...yes it means what you think it means! That is my only comment for now."

so with all this information i think it's clear that something is up right now.

Could be entertaining....or we could just get the return of Doctor Doom, Hoaxland and Linda Moldy Cow :(

It does not bother me if starts up or not we live in a free capitalist countries still and big brother has been around for much longer than lots of folks think. He seems to capture a audience and good luck to him. Hopefully most folks encourage anyone wanting to start a business and its entertainments to the 85 to 90% of listeners who follow this subject on all types of paranormal.
 
Yep--Just switched off C2C (yet again) after listening to Noory's first hour guest make a very crafty case for the notion that people with chronic post surgical pain just need to loose their anger and "take control" of their situation. What was it Mike said about Unicorns crapping rainbows? As someone with 4 back surgeries and a fused spine I can tell you---Let's just say I would welcome Art's return. :)

I would love to hear Art Bell if he returns. I could do without being strung along in the meantime, but as long as there's something at the end of all this I'm waiting with bated breath.:)
 
More breaking news. Recently Art posted on his Twitter account

"This is not a tease, promise."

In addition after more multiple changes so that each character in "wanna take a ride !!!?" linked to all the songs Art used to use for bumpers on his show

his web page now displays

"Incoming
Message!!!!"

with a status bar
