I have been away for the weekend, so sorry for my late response.
I was mistaken and I now understand that Mr Dew is not from England after all. I don't know why I thought he was in the first place.
My focus in the beginning was on what was shown in the slides, rather than the characters involved in the deception.
I will try to reread this thread and some of the others, to see if I can establish why I jumped to that conclusion.
