Here are two links to articles about an interesting book by John Geiger.
He reports on people in extreme situations of distress who perceive a previously unseen companion with them. I found it very interesting and plan to read the book.

I also found what appears to be a related book: Explorers of the Infinite by Maria Coffey. Good luck on getting the Geiger book in the library unless you are in Canada. It was just released in the US but there were several previous incarnations published in Canada.

yep, as the beer commercial goes: "I AM CANADIAN" and of course, somebody in the US bought out Molson's, so I am Canadian, but publicly traded on the NYSE...
