The Trickster Strikes the Perseid Meteor Shower

Foolish Earthling
I have been waiting for the Perseids meteor shower all summer. It was peaking last night. I cooked out, invited some freinds, had lawn chairs all set up, the kids were excited.
For two weeks we've had relatively clear skies after sunset. We were all set.

And then what happens? As soon as it started getting dark, low clouds rolled in from nowhere and completely overcast the sky. Couldn't even see the full moon glow through the mess. Then about 10:30 a thunder storm showed up and kept going for hours. So I get up periodically to check the weather all night. Complete cloud cover.
Starting at about 7:30 this morning after the sun came up, the clouds started clearing, and now, at 8:00 freakin AM, with the sun up, it clears off and we have sunny blue skies.

If someone or something didn't want us to see the meteor shower, they couldn't have planned it better. It's very hard not to get the impression we had a just plain mean practical joke played on us. I mean the timing of it , of ALL times to do this, just seems too coincidental. And aggravating.
