Okay, I'm sure we've all seen the footage filmed by the South
American guy, but what about the footage filmed by that high quality camera? I can't seem to find that anywhere.

Here's the south American guys clip.

They all seem pretty adamant that it is not a cluster of balloons, but due to the shite quality of his handycam at 100x zoom, I can't tell with any amount of certainty.

This was in fact a cluster of mylar balloons bought from a street vendor and released by a member of MUFON. They were secretly released at a time when it was known both their crew and their subject cameraman would be watching. They did it to see how it would be interpreted by this guy who keeps feeding Jaime Mussan videos of "ufos". This was documented in the Discovery Channel show UFO's Over Earth - Mass Sightings in Mexico.

I would have to see it duplicated to believe that claim. If that's nothing more than a cluster of balloons, then there is some serious video distortion.

I don't know if I would describe it as a "claim". The release and simultaneous filming is quite accurately documented by the Discovery Channel crew. There are torrents of the show out there if you want to watch it. Handheld + max digital zoom + cheap camcorder + one of if not THE smoggiest city on the planet = serious video distortion.

As an aside, when I was doing some research on spotting scopes I discovered that the practical limit for optical magnification looking through atmosphere, say between two points on the ground is considered to about 60x. Stronger than that doesn't get you much because of the distortion from just looking through that much air. I had a 38x Matsukov-Cassegrain setup that was still too jittery for me to use for ground observation even tripod mounted. 7-8x is about as strong as you can handhold w/out going nuts. High magnifications need massive stabilization. I realize that digital and optical zoom are not the same thing but even when we are talking about people zooming in w/ their 12x optical zoom camcorders there is gonna be a lot of jitter.

I would still like to see the footage from that professional camera. With that footage one would easily be able to tell if it was mylar balloons or truly something "unknown". But of course, it's only the grainy crap footage that ever gets released.

There was also a sighting in British Columbia that I was reminded of when I saw this footage. (NSFW language)

These dudes are totally Canadian, especially the one dude that speaks into the camera. I got a flashback of Bob & Doug Mackenzie and now all I can think of is beer and doughnuts.

Either way, cool video, if it is infact explainable, it's still worth watching for the Boba Fett reference at the end and the stoner ramblings of the typical BC resident.

Wow, Methshin! I wonder if there is a connection between drinking Capt. Morgan's Spiced Rum and UFO's. It's an odd correlation, but I've seen strange things while sipping that stuff, too. Not joking.

I don't think we can single out Captain Momo. I saw roughly 7 fireballs in a very tight flying V formation. However, I was rather sauced on The Crown Royal. I've seen double, but never septuptle. Either way, it was at an outdoor party in the boons and roughly 200 people saw what I saw.

Jesus Christ... THIS SHIT HAS TO STOP.

Jaime Maussan is a fucking idiot. "Eez No A Balloon... " Hey fucktard, It EEEZZZZ A BALLOON. EEEEZZZ MANY BALLOONS TIED TOGETHER.

GODDAMMIT... The outright bullshit put out by this useless fuck staggers the mind. No wonder everyone thinks ALL UFO investigators are full of Shit. When you have people like this fucking moron touting video like this as proof, it's no surprise that people in general do not believe or take anyone seriously.

Just more ammunition for debunkers to point to and laugh at.

I'm just guessing here, but I get the impression you are certain it is balloons?

;)

Jaime isn't using a state of the art camera here, he's using a cheapie camera you can get at Wal-Mart. There's NO footage from the high end camera, because it would be without a doubt, shown to be balloons.

Yep, It's balloons. The distortion is from the shitty camcorder that's being used. An HD camera would show without a doubt that these were mylar balloons. That, and someone else posted that it was balloons released by a MUFON member to see how Jaime would report it.

well, I was being - sarcastic is not the right word, it's too harsh - but I was stating the obvious in the form of a question. The term escapes me, but I am sure it will pop into my head around 3 am...

The first time I saw one of this type of vid it reminded me of mercury. We used to play with that stuff, roll it from palm to palm like a slinky. Ah, the good old days.

Yeah the good old days when you could be a kid handling mercury without people freaking out.

It's sad really the fun that we can no longer have due to legislation. Hehehehhehe.

you got that right. riding in the back of trucks, bikes without helmets, walking around town without getting shot at. I miss those days...

Then... Parents with stupid children, made the world safe, by taking the fun and excitement out of being a child. You want to fix what is wrong with the world? Take the safetys off of everything.

The more dangerous the world, the more intelligent the species.
