The Zorgy Awards - results are in

Free episodes:

Kevin Daly

Skilled Investigator
An update from Paul Kimball's site:

http://redstarfilms.blogspot.com/2009/01/2008-zorgy-awards.html

I don't know if anyone's posted the results yet, but I haven't seen it so unless I was unreasonably distracted by doing the work thing I'll assume not. Maybe.

Ladies and Gentlemen, without further ado:

Top Podcast: Binnall of America - 196 votes (52%)
The Paracast was second with 114 votes for 30%

Top Messageboard: Above Top Secret - 448 votes (73%)
Once again the Paracast was second with 65 votes for 11%
(that's some gap - clearly ATS cornered the significant Fairy vote. And possibly some Pixies)

Last but not least...(drum roll)
Top troublemaker: David Biedny - 88 votes (49%)
(Jeremy came in fourth with 18 votes for 10%...a good start anyway)

While I find myself listening to the occasional BOA lately, it doesnt even come close to the Paracast.

It truly doesnt.

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but the Zorgy awards are ridiculous. It's some kind of popularity contest like in high school. This is of no real value in the so-called field. Some people will think, "well it's just fun", and maybe it is, but I couldn't care less.

I know what the best podcast is. Last year The Paracast wasn't even included in the nominees. What does that tell you??

Last name of a man who sung Ring of Fire and redid Soundgarden's Rusty Cage.

...and who strictly speaking didn't have a first name. Apparently his parents could only agree on the initials, so he adopted "John" when he joined the army and they expected people to come fully equipped, name-wise.

Life is strange.

I'm currently working on a design for the biggest UFO Fraud award. It'll come with a Certificate.

THAT is the award that needs to be handed out at least once a year.

I checked out the Binal radio podcast after reading this thread and really enjoyed the paranormal 'year in review' double episode with Nick Redfern and some other dude named Greg Bishop A nice recap on what happened in 2008 including talk on Stephenville, Bigfoot hoax, the speculative UN meeting, etc....

I enjoyed their take and it was cool to remember the non-stories :) in this tiny bizzaro niche from the past year. Check it out if you get the chance - binnall of america : audio, Season IV

Greg Bishops great. Hes definitely one of the good guys.

He does a blog with Nick Redfern here: UFOMystic

He also has a radio show and IMO hes just as good as the Paracast guys. Not married to any theory, very intelligent, has good guests, open minded etc etc. Check out: Radio Misterioso

Well worth it. Its on itunes too, which is worth checking out as there seems to be more back episodes on itunes than he has listed on the site.

I'm now listening to the Jaque Vallee interview from the Binall radio archives and it's quite good, really enjoying it!

binnall of america : audio, Season III

Seems like Vallee is still doing his own investigations on stuff.

David if you haven't already I think you would really enjoy this, there is a part where he discusses why taking infared film into the desert to try and get ufo shots is a bad idea.

Speaking of Bad Ideas, I always loved this skit Hulu - Saturday Night Live: Bad Idea Jeans

Wow, the Vallee interview is sweet! His observations and insights are really good, assuming his case research is legit (which I assume it is after reading Revelations, reading his bio and hearing how he is held in high regard by so many people)

I'm on Vallee's site now, looks like he published a relatively new academic paper on UFO's (2007). I'm gonna read it now, it's available at - http://www.jacquesvallee.net/bookdocs/WebLSTarticle.pdf
