Good work to Koji in the other thread for the info. I then went to cristinascourt.com and tracked down the episode. Now, we just need video and the hilarity will commence....

(hmmm, I wonder which one she is)

Joanie “Chyna” Laurer paid a breeder $3500 for two puppies. Chyna says she never received the puppies and her money was never returned. Catherine claims she did give the money to a breeder for two puppies. But the breeder never gave her the puppies or the money back and she too was ripped off! Chyna says the real breeder got in touch with her and told her that Catherine is a scam artist and pretends to be the middle man when she is the one doing the stealing! See what Cristina thinks on the next “Cristina’s Court!” (CC406)

The googles, they do nothing!!

I checked youtube couldn't find it. My parents watch all those court shows, except for this one.

I haven't listened to all the show yet. The woman Bill's wife I'm guessing? Looks a little young for him.

The mind boggles. Why would She-Knell go on this show? I guess they get paid for participating? And get to be on TV? Crazy.

Um I think you guys are thinking of Joey Buttafuoco who won in Fox's Celebrity Boxing against Chyna. Bonaduce beat up "Greg Brady". The worst was seeing Horshack get his ass handed to him by some guy I'd never heard of.

Yeh, that's right. Bonadouchie is the Partriach Family guy, I think. I got their names mixed up.

SCreeCH! from Saved by the Bell was on it and kicked the Welcome Back Carter guy's ass. Sad, sad, sad.

Wow, that is some crazy sh*t!

Of all the people, Chyna the former Pro Wrestler/drug addict gets ripped off by the the Knell's. Why the hell aren't they in jail? It must be hard to pin down these types of civil crimes or something????

The other piece Knell wrote about honesty was just insane, this rabbit hole keep getting stranger. I think this paracast episode was really helpful in that it showed us all that indeed there are some legitimately crazy people in this space (surprise :) )who make up lies for reasons a normal person couldn't begin to fathom. The only bright side is if Michael Vick was one of their dog buying clients :)

So she's not handing the puppies over? Jeez, what's she doing with 'em? Anyone checked what kind of coats Cru-Knell-er de Ville's wearing?

How does that song go...?

"Cru-Knell-er de Ville
Cru-Knell-er de Ville,
If the cops don't get yer,
The Paracast will!"

Yes, both parties are paid. The cases are chosen from real cases filed in small claims courts, both parties receive a set amount for being on, any amount awarded is deducted from their fee for appearing, so often a party can go on one of these court shows, lose the case and still make money for being on the show, the winner gets the fee for appearing plus the award from the judge. They sign a binding contract when they agree to appear that they will drop the real case and abide by the TV judge's decision. It's a win win for both parties.

and a lose-lose for intellectually stimulating and educational tv....

oh wait, there is no such thing, I must have been dreaming:D

Unbelievable! This is just the stupidest thing for a con artist to do. One would expect good scammers to have the sense not to go on national television voluntarily and associate their own name with a crime.
Forget the whole UFO crap for a minute, putting this court episode out there into the ether could sink their puppy scam...and that might have been where a lot of their $ was coming from.

I'm not disappointed that they're making these mistakes. I'm just surprised at the idiocy. I hope they never reproduced.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Chyna Takes Dog Breeder Co-Op to ‘Court’

Reality star and former wrestler says Chihuahua breeder took $4,000 but didn’t deliver a dog.

Reality star and former professional wrestler Chyna is involved in another televised fight – this time on “Christina’s Court,” where she faces off with a web-based Chihuahua co-op that she says took her money but didn’t deliver a dog.

Chyna told TMZ that she paid $4,000 for a Chihuahua puppy in April to Phoenix, Ariz.-based ArizonaPups.com. But when the dog never arrived, Chyna took the site to TV judge show “Christina’s Court” – and won.
Catherine Knell, owner of ArizonaPups.com, claims the “kangaroo” court was rigged against her from the start.
“We have sold several other puppies to Chynna [sic] with no problem,” Knell said in a statement. “Her most recent order was cancelled after our co-breeder wanted more for the puppy once he found out it was going to Chynna. Because we’re a co-op, each breeder has an individual responsibility to provide delivery of their pups.

“We agreed to appear with her on ‘Christina’s Court’ to resolve this issue and believed that Chynna was a friend,” Knell continued. “That court episode turned out to be an ode to Chynna with video clips and photos from her various ventures…We quickly found out that Christina merely wanted to turn the event into a lovefest for Chynna and had no intention of giving us a fair hearing.”

Comments from that page:

Bill Knell and Catherine Knell have ripped off
hundreds of people from all over the world not just
the states !! I am sure Christina's Court was FAIR,
Funny how he has Chyna's name every where that she
is a satisfied customer ! They have ripped me off
same ole story, promise a puppy and never receive the puppy or the money. Have not been to court yet,
that is the next step. I turned his check he gave me over to the Maricopa County Check Fraud Department.

They have scammed several customers, myself included. I successfully sued them in small claims court in Arizona on Apr. 25, 2006. They were also successfully sued by another former customer on this same date and in this same court. They are shameless scam artists. All true. Depending on the both the terms of the arbitration agreement (for Christina's Court parties) and the particular laws of the jurisdiction the parties would otherwise have brought their case to court in, it can be an even bigger win for the loser, because he/she could be avoiding a larger potential judgment. Based solely on the fact that I've never seen tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars awarded on shows like Christina's Court I would guess there is a comparatively lower cap on damages than in most actual courts for these sorts of cases. So (possibly) Chyna gets the satisfaction of shaming Mrs. Knell on public TV and Mrs. Knell gets away with a relatively low judgment against her.

Like you say, it's different everywhere, but remember that these are always small claims court cases presented on these TV court shows so you are not going to see tens or hundreds of thousands, $5000 would seem to be the most common maximum for small claims courts, but it can vary wildly, for example here in my area of Eastern Canada it used to be $5000 max, but now small claims is anything up to $25,000, but in the US my take is that most small claims are still limited to $5k.
