Paranormal Novice
Well I have to say I've been listening to The Paracast since the first episode and it's without a doubt my favorite podcast. I work with Adobe CS3 on a MAC every day and am into the, let's say, "paranormal" I also do some video and music production.
Gene & David are really swell guys, and thanks for all the work you do!
Anyway, hello to everyone and what do make of this footage?

You're very welcome. :)

That is clearly an Eagle bro.

All kidding aside, that is an awesome video, a little too good to be true, so prolly fake. That's how usually works.

If you look to the right, there are a ton of vids from the same guy, your link is to # 17 in fact. A modern-day Billy Meier?

Isn't that the privilege of having Jeff and David here?

Well it looks like all of the video that this user has posted is from different sources all compiled on one website. None of the other videos seem as legit as this one though. Just listen to the woman saying no, you can hear the disbelief of what she is seeing in her voice. Sure are lots of crap videos and hoaxes out there, this one seems maybe too good to be true... It just might be though.

The craft looks like one of those exhaust air vents you see in commercial buildings. (Just an observation) And again, why do we never get to see the video in its entirety?? If I were putting up some valid video of what I thought to be a UFO, I would show all of it, not just a piece of it. It certainly casts a good deal of doubt. And it is quite different than the saucers we usually hear about which are usually smooth, rounded, seamless.

I'm guessing if we saw the end of this video, it might be very telling as to the nature of it for real. Like maybe they had to move down the fishing line or cables. Just a guess, thanks for sharing the video and I don't mean to immediately bag on it, even if that is what I'm doing. There are just certain things that set off my spidey senses when looking at videos. And not that I'm any kind of professional.

By the way, welcome to the forums. It took me a long time to join also and I've been listening from the beginning as well.

At about 52secs in you will see something fly by very fast, too fast for a bird, has to be a bug. The fact that it can be picked up on the camera suggests that the camera is not zoomed far away. That means it is zoomed close up on something small, a model/toy, etc.

**Shrug** - I dunno. Like the others have said, I'm immediately suspicious of footage that has no beginning or end. I mean, how long was the 'UFO' visible? If it flew away shortly after this video ends, then why didn't he video that? If he did, why has he left it off the video?

If you're into video production, you'll know how easy it is to fake such images nowadays. Also, unless you see these things with your own eyes, even 'genuine' videos can be dismissed as 'fake'.

I've no idea why people say 'too good to be true" - that logic doesn't make sense to me. How can an image be too "good to be true". My camera can take a picture of anything I point it at and produce a crisp clean image. Are those images 'too good' to be true? Are the Apollo landing images 'too good' to be true. ;)

If you listened to the all the shows, you'll recall what DB says about the images he is asked to look at - as he states, even if you can authentic them and show that they are 'genuine', you're still no nearer to solving the mystery of what they actually are.

The point is that every time a new video or pic comes along that looks really clear and crisp, it ends up being a fake.

Show me a really good UFO pic/vid that is clear and not considered a fake. That's the point.

Yeah, but the danger of thinking in that way is that you would also dismiss a 'genuine' picture as a fake. That's all I'm saying. At the end of the day, pictures (and videos) have very little value either way.

How could it possibly get overlooked with all the idiots at ATS thinking every pic is their space brothers visiting? LOL

The bottom line is, unless I was a video/picture annalist there is no reason I should be checking out every new vid/pic that comes along. If it is the real deal, it will not get over looked. And like you said yourself, what does that do for us anyhow, still says nothing w/o major witnesses.

Too right - my willingness to accept pictures and videos as singular proof of something extraordinary is close to nil. :)

On the other hand, if there were multiple witnesses taking multiple photos and videos, then I would have to consider the possibility of a real event.

With that said, if someone has seen one of these things with their own eyes and then were to recognize the object in the video as what they had seen would that
make it proof of anything? No, but to that person it would be something. Even if it just resembles what they saw, it could still be a hoax.
