What do people on this forum think about time travel.? I am of the thought , no proof, that this has already been studied and somewhat figured out.

I think the key words to pull from that article are the words "Russian Scientists"

From everything I've read (which is a lot), any remote chance of constructing a time machine would require the manipulation of energy levels infinitely beyond our capability (as in aligning multiple neutron stars and spinning them together so that the drag caused by their combined gravitational fields warps the geomtry of space beyond a critical threshold. Even then you could only go back in time to the point at which the device first activated.

Other proposals also require the manipulation of immense amounts of negative energy, dark matter, or cosmic strings (assuming such things exist) into Tipler cylinders or geometric lattices to create the space-time dialation required. We might as well hope that unicorns appear and do it for us.

So based on that, the likelihood that humans will build a time machine device in the next 3-500+ years is equivalent to the chance that an ant hill in my back yard will build a nuclear aircraft carrier in the next 500 years. Even if we knew for sure how to do it (which we dont) the magnitude of energy required and the scale of industry required is light years beyond anything we can conceive of at this point. If Issac Newton had somehow figured out the theory behind atomic energy, it wouldn't have done him any good - science and technology needed 300+ years of general development before any practical use could be made of it. I think time travel and faster than light travel are similar situations.

The real question, to me, is can an advanced non-human intelligence traverse or manipulate normal time? Impossible to say at this point. If they are thousands/millions/billions of years ahead of us, no telling how or what they will be capable of. Or us, for that matter, in a thousand years.

I don't have a strong science background. From a western scientific status quo reality point of veiw, time travel can only be theoretical.

For argument's sake let's assume that some of the UFO's that are seen and reported are our own. It appears that they can travel interdimesionally. How that could be acheived I have no clue. The source of energy required could be anything from using consciousness to atomic energy ar some combination of. Just my thoughts.

John Titor claimed that UFO's were probably time travelers from a further point in our future than he himself claimed to come from.

Should that be true... it would fit perfectly with John Keel's theories that a large part of the UFO experience is a faux front for the activities of a race from our own planet. I have become an extremely skeptical yet appreciative of Keel's work because of how it explains some of the more enigmatic aspects of the enigma.

I do not consider the Titor story Gospel... just food for thought.
