Currently JPL has a Mars Mission about 3 weeks out from Mars. This is the "Curiosity Rover" that should land then. (2.5 Billion Dollars worth!) 19 years ago the 1.5 Billion Dollar Mars Observer was in route to Mars. 3 days before going into orbit NASA turned off the systems (never a GOOD reason why) and when they turned them back on ... no space craft answered! Tonights show (a blast from the past) was with Richard Hoagland just prior to the spacecraft's expected orbit. This was/is a DO NOT MISS excursion into radio excellence.
