I was amazed as I listened to this episode. The guest was basically given an hour of free time to broadcast his infomercial for the military-industrial-space complex, and it's need to develop weaponry to defend America against hypothetical alien attack. Gene and David go to lengths to tell how they 'ask the hard questions', but I heard little or no hard questions asked of this fellow. Dr Travis is no doubt skilled at what he does, but he is clearly and openly a member of the military and intelligence apparatus, and as such, I am surprised that there were no critical questions asked of him.

Why not ask: "In light of the fact that you work for the US Military, couldn't this book, and your position be seen as a clear advertisement for more weapons funding?"

Have you considered the possibility that if aliens come to Earth, they would not be hostile?

Could this be a part of a government psy-op to prepare the public to be willing to spend money on a space defense system?

Aren't there better things we could spend money on?

Unbelievable.

As an addendum to the above, please see this review from Amazon.com regarding Dr. Taylor's book:

As other commenters have noted both the editing and the science behind the book are sloppy and careless. The strategies and tactics for defending earth have not been well thought out. A section of the book amounted to a paen to governmental secrecy and why the authors think it is important. And to why the government should give large amounts of money to aerospace companies and lie to the people about it.

Some interesting ideas, and might be worth buying for about a third of the price.

Youve piqued my interest enough for me to go back and listen to that episode. Either I missed that one of just completely forget it, but I have no idea what that show was like.

Will report back after I re-listen.

I don't recall the show either.

As for psyops, that's as speculative as the guest appears to be given the OP.

Let me know if you find the show Gareth, I didn't........
