“I see them as the world’s policemen, up there to keep an eye on us,” he said, taking a puff of his cigarette. “I only wish they’d come down for a chat. Then we could drink tea and play a few rounds of backgammon.” :D

Was it Friedman who said the earth was under quarantine. 'No way we're gonna let these nasty earthlings propagate'

The more I learn about this stuff, the more I see ufology as the 'rationalization of Gods'. The recognition of higher sentient levels through cold technological eyes instead of religions... something we couldn't even dare do a century ago. (At least for nuts and bolts types like me )

If we're being policed... is it because this planet is a farm or is this place a quarantined area ? Or is it both ? A quarantined farm.. a place where ideas can be tested ?

Definitely makes for entertaining speculative thought, that's for sure. I play around with the notion from time to time when I run through the long list of possible reasons the phenomena exists. If you start with the proposed foundation that the phenomena is indeed extraterrestrial, physical in nature, and originated from another planet, solar system or galaxy, you would eventually reach that possible conclusion. Through a mere logical hierarchy of thinking, you could suppose that there may exist a civilization so old, or so "advanced", that they reached a sort of plateau in their advancement, or require another form of medium for learning; creating other forms of life and observing. Perhaps on a macrocosmic level, that is the way life propagates, and spreads throughout the universe. If a form of life can survive long enough, and achieve the necessary advancement, there will come a time when they create life elsewhere in the universe. In a way, it wouldn't be a whole lot different than microbes spreading, especially if you consider the size of the universe.

Now, I don't believe that. I just like letting my imagination go sometimes. :D

If you did, you'd be starting a religion ;) The idea here is to try to fit a block of common experience with a grand scheme of things or what some people call an 'alien agenda'.

When you stop at one hypothesis and stop trying to validate, you close your mind up and stop the flow of ideas. This turkish night-watchman thinks he's found the alien agenda ... the earth is potentially a quarantined farm.

The presence of higher tech and evolution in this universe is a no-brainer... what they're doing with that technology at a higher evolutionary stage is the real mystery. Ask yourself how we process foreign organisms ? The H1N1 virus for example which is a new strain... we're developping a vaccine. On a galactic scale I would expect the same survival reflexes... wouldn't you ?

Could be that we're a science experiment. We might win first prize at the universal science fair. Think about it...they track species propagation through mitochondrial DNA. ;)

But the truth? No idea.

Would control or subserviance be a good guess ?
