Paranormal Adept
I'm not really a nuts and bolts u.f.o. kind of guy. I mean I hang around here but my main interest in the paranormal didn't really start with u.f.o.'s. But, some here are very well versed in the subject so I have a question. I recently came upon two books that I now have on my e-reader. They are "The Interrupted Journey" and part two of the Andresason Affair. My question is are these older books (in your opinion) signal or noise?

Those are classics Steve. The Interrupted Journey was the first UFO book I can remember reading. My mother let me join the Sci-Fi book club and it was in the initial group of books I ordered. I read that book countless times over the years. I have intended to read The Andreasson Affair and have yet to do it. I would say both are worth your time.

I find it almost impossible to read any type of book. Just not my thing if i was to read books it likely would improve my writing skills and knowledge. The only time i ever forced myself to read books was for school, college and courses i did to better myself.

I bought a few UFO books about a year ago, but still haven't read them. Probably read a couple of chapters here and there thats it.

Shit Kieran - I couldn't have a UFO book around without tearing into it! I like reading for it's own sake - on the bus, on a break, on the helo offshore etc. Kindles etc are ok but I still love a book. To be able to look at someone's book collection get's me excited and I have conversations about what we should be reading next.
I wonder what you do with the time that those of us who read use to read? I understand that some folks never took to reading or felt it was forced on them at school etc but I might suggest to give it a go. Pick up one of your UFO books and don't give up until at least a 1/3 of the way through. If reading aint your bag then that's that but I feel you may be missing out on so much stuff you will never see on TV or the internet.

I have books in piles, on shelves, and in piles on shelves. There is a coffee table in the study with a pile of UFO books covering it. I never go anywhere without a book. If I have my bag with me (which is never has the laptop in it) there is at least two books in there and a couple of notebooks and a sketchbook. If I can keep it down to trying to read two books at once I'm good. I'm not mentioning the comic books 'cause I'm cutting back. Really, I swear.I just bought Campell's The Inner Reaches of Outer Space and Strieber's The Grays in a quick drive by at Half Price Books. My wife on the other hand, doesn't read for recreation. Go figure.

Though I am no fan of Strieber the UFO personality, Strieber the Sci-Fi author is pretty good. I really enjoyed The Grays. My only issue is that Strieber tends to confuse great fiction with his perceptions of reality. If he would only cut out the New Agey Guru B.S. and focus on being a Sci-Fi author he would have a better reputation. Sorry for the nearly random diatribe there... :)
