OMG! THAT's how you do it!
He's got the vision, gear, the genius, and the dough---boy have I got a place for that state-of-the-art hummer to go! Somebody, quick, introduce me!
BTW: After I get back from the AngelFire Conference in NM, I'll have an update on the SLV Surveillance Camera Project. We are moving ahead in fits and starts...

Goodness, he certainly doesn't seem to have a problem with cash. That vehicle nearly mirrors ideas I've had about what I feel would make for a good UFO TV show. Most researchers wouldn't be able to do it because it would be too expensive but for a television show it shouldn't be much of a problem to build some vehicle like that and then travel to places where lots of UFO sightings have recently been reported. But I would take it a step further by adding some type of on-board passive radar system.

Don't know why but the video always freezes up for me at the 4:14 point. Anyone else having that problem?

That is a very cool vehicle. The video freezes at the same point for me too.

I just came across this today. Looks like a legitimate, sincere effort to capture some UFO images.

Videos | Douglas Trumbull - Immersive Media and Visual Effects ( click on the video UFOTOG )

Serious business and massive investment. Is he personally funding this project ? By the looks of it, seems like the outcome of very long term planning. R&D, machining, special hardware and software, custom electronics, specialized optics, hydraulics and high tech control systems.

Multi-million $$$. My bet, if it's out there he'll catch it :)

He's the man. He's partly responsible for special effects in some of the greatest films of all time. Some might say the best. The opening sequence in Bladerunner is pretty sick. He also worked on 2001 and Close Encounters. Turned down Star Wars in 1975... :P

The best part of the clip is when he transitions from building UFOs out of kitchen parts, then revealing his bad-ass project.

Any chance Douglas Trumbull might appear as a guest ?

The source of Trumbull's extreme interest and financial investment in discovering the truth about UFO's rivals Laurance Rockefeller's late in his life.

I've got a feeling he also might have very interesting insight concerning Steven Speilberg's interest in the UFO subject... and perhaps maybe confirm the Ronald Reagan quote during the screening of ET - The extraterrestrial:

I bet there aren't 6 people in this whole room who know how true this whole thing is.
