UFO Quiz/Test: Help requested

Misanthrope
As some of you know, I am interested in UFO education (or the lack thereof) We have way too many ill-informed people spouting opinions without having any background in the field. In a thread last week I suggested that if I were God I'd require people to take a test before they could post. So I got to thinking, why not create the test? Below is a 50 question UFO quiz. My intent is to expand this list to 100 questions, plus provide answers and references for each answer. I'd like your input. If you have questions or areas where you would like to see questions, please let me know. I'll include them in the final edition with credit. This is just for fun. I'm not suggesting this test REALLY be used like I said above. It might be useful as a self-study guide. Here's what I have so far:

I think a basic UFO quiz would do well to acquaint the testee with the original official investigative programs and time frames. A basic knowledge should understand the relationship of Sign>Grudge>BlueBook. Perhaps a question about the Robertson Panel and it's relationship to the 1952 Washington Merry-Go-Round sightings would be desirable.

It might be interesting to have a series of questions such as, "Which U.S. President said the following?" or which U.S. astronaut said the following?

As far as case/individual-specific questions go I would probably shy away from the really sensational ones and look more at cases like the Sturrock Panel dealt with.

One of the things I notice when talking about this subject to the uninitiated is that they are usually completely ignorant about basic historical facts. I'm not talking about speculative theories on motives and origins, I'm talking about things like whether or not the Air Force actually investigates ufos, the existance of Blue Book, etc. They have no idea that this thing has been an ongoing public issue for over 60 years.

I so failed that test! I don't have names to names, places to name, etc. but I remember the fellow who first used skipping like a stone, kind of like a saucer shape, and he was flying somewhere in Washington state, does that count? and the physicist is Stanton Friedman! I know 2 for sure!

Yes, you're right. Kenneth Arnold was flying near Mt. Rainier in Washington State, part of the Cascade Range. The vehicles he saw were very strangely shaped, kind of like half a Midieval Battle axe or a scythe with sharp edges toward the rear. On a clear day that area is absolutely beautiful. Once a 737 pilot took us very close to the mountain on the way out of Seattle and I managed to take a wonderful picture of the mountain through the window. Once in a lifetime shot from above. If there had been hikers on the mountain we could have seen them. We were that close.

I do intend to add answers to this quiz along with references. I'm just fishing for more questions and areas to cover at the moment. I figure you guys can help fill in the gaps I'm missing. Thanks for the help.

Well most of these aren't UFO questions per se, but I think they are important when discussing the matter.

1. Describe the Drake Equation and the Fermi paradox.
2. What are the strengths and weaknesses of SETI.
3. What are the potential problems when someone is undergoing hypnosis??
4. Do UFO's pre-date 1947? Why or why not?
5. What is the confidence of polygraphs??
6. Name 3 people in the field that are frauds and why they are frauds.
7. Descibe the various types of crafts and occupants frequently reported.
8. What types of things are commonly misidentified as UFO's??

OK, will stop the stream of consciousness, ....now.

The Drake Equation and Fermi Paradox is hard. Math is hard...

The Strengths and Weaknesses of SETI. Their Strengths is that they have a Microwave in the lounge close to the wheel of death and pop machine. Their Weaknesses? I cannot divulge as I wish to exploit them later.

The potential problems of someone going under hypnosis, is sometimes the guy who is doing the hypnotizing could be a sicko, pervert, or just into practical jokes, therefore making you do something stupid and videotaping it.

Yes UFO's predate 1947. There is plenty of documented evidence that Fred Flintstone, who lived during the Pleistoscene in the little town of Bedrock, had dealings with an alien named Gazoo. There were other reported incidents through time, in the bible, and in Ted Kennedy's year book.

The confidence of polygraphs? That they no longer wear polyester, and can get away with wearing White after Labor Day.

Three people in this field who are frauds? My brain exploded from having to choose from the myriad list of assclowns and morons.

The various types of crafts and occupants. I'll let you know when they let me bring a camcorder along when they abduct me again.

Venus, Swamp Gas, The Moon, The Sun, Sun Dogs, Corn Dogs, Hot Dogs, Uranus, and not the planet. My EGO. My Alter Ego. And various change that I've found on the street. Did I mention that I built a few UFO's? They don't fly though, but when the booze kicks in...

Below is the second half of "The UFO Quiz: 101 things you really should know about UFOs" Thank you to those who contributed questions. You are credited below. My next step is to provide the answers with references. I will probably do this as a PDF file, though I will investigate whether a blog or a web page would work well. I can't really do this as a forum post because of technical limitations. The idea is that you will be able to click on the number next to the question and be linked to the answer with references. This will be a self-scoring test because it would be way too much work to do the infrasructure necessary to score it unless we went with multiple choice. I'm not inclined to do that because multiple choice puts the answer in front of you, and it must be brief. Besides, we'd have to think up 300 to 400 false answers and I am way too lazy to do that. So give me some time and I will post the complete test with answers as soon as I can.

Meanwhile have fun. If you have more or better questions, please do say so and I will consider them for the final product. I should imagine this could evolve into newer revisions as we sort out redundancies and come up with better questions.
