Most of this stuff ends up being crap so I'd expect this will too.

I would think so too but did you catch Nick Pope's quote in the article you linked.

Nick Pope, who worked on the MoD's UFO desk for three years, called it "one of the most extraordinary UFO clips I've ever seen".
He added: "At first I thought this was a reflection, but it appears to move behind a power line, ruling out this theory."

crap. someone already posted a thread about this. Sorry gene and dave, I thought I had looked around and didn't see anything but once again I was..... wrong! Doh!

Holy shit. This could be the biggest UFO story of 2009 and I don't see much talk about it. Has Dave commented about it yet?

In one shot I've seen, it looked as though there were a tether on the left of the object, extending to the corner of a building. But I decided it could also have been the difference in the quality of the cloud layer too. The layer below is distinct from a sweeping layer above the area.

Can't let the tether thing go completely and I can't find the photo now either.

Does anyone think that if something truly unusual were to hang over the Kremlim for a couple of hours, the Russian military would not deploy some airplanes and other hardware to the task of capturing said object?

Having seen a couple of the videos, it looks like a balloon to me.

dB

They would put so much lead in the skies that it would make the "Battle of Los Angeles" look like a pie fight.
The Russians would not be timid about something like this.

I think other indicators that point to this being a non-event is that there is hardly any web chatter, video or pictures.
To contrast, the failed Russian missile test seen over Norway generated a much, much greater volume of video, pictures, news articles and chatter.

Guys, it's clearly BS. People who made this CGI had to put some choppers and fighters in the sky to make it more believable. I agree with David, this video was made at night and in a broad daylight over the top secured place and you believe there shouldn't be choppers are flying all over around? Remember the scene from 'District - 9' with the helicopters approaching that huge ship?

Man, District 9 was awesome!
