UFO's boring?

Free episodes:

UBERDOINK

Skilled Investigator
Am I the only one that is getting bored with the UFO topic? There is never anything new, if I hear Roswell one more time I'm going to throw something.

Over the last 50 years nothing has changes, only new mythologies have rose and died. But NO ANSWERS just a lot of mindless back and forth.

Just wondering if anyone else agrees with me here. :-)

There have been plenty of answers unearthed over the last few decades, very many being within the last two. They're not the "ultimate answer" we're all hoping for, but it's enough to make a fairly accurate composite of things in my opinion. You have the work of Rich Dolan which chronicled the history of the subject very well, the work of John Greenwald Jr. at the Blackvault with his thousands of declassified documents painting an interesting picture.

It all depends on what you're looking at I guess, or what you focus on. We all know there's plenty of bunk out there, unsubstantiated claims and charlatans, but there's also a lot of work out there illuminating the facts. It may not be up to standards with what we want, but it's still pushing forward, albeit at a snail's pace. I can agree with you though, it has been 50 years and I'd imagine those who have been in the field for a long time now had imagined things would be quite different today.

I agree there has been lots of work in the field, but unlike other forms of investigation we have nothing concrete, just a new theory here or there that goes in and out of fashion.

Where are the Nordic aliens of the 60's? why did they disappear for a decade or more and then only Grey's were seen?

Couldn't this be more a cultural and psychological phenomena than a real alien one?

It is, for the most part. The cultural and sociological aspect is one of the few facets we can easily analyze and measure throughout it's history. The stoic greys abducting people compared to the placid contactee movement of the 50s and 60s is quite a shift in culture. You're forced to ask yourself how much of that is human fabrication (Or delusion), and how much of it is genuine alien interaction? I'd like to see an unbiased analysis of that part of the phenomena by a qualified scientist in a relevant field, but I don't think you will find it. It's too easy to slip into the debunking and ridicule guise.

the real question is if there is "genuine alien interaction" at all.

Seeing lights in the sky, "Unidentified" flying objects, and interacting with aliens (identifying what they are in the name) is a giant leap.

We have a phenomena with lots of mythologies tying it together. but what uninterpretable truth can we point to?

So you dont believe anyone has ever seen a real physical object in the sky that seemed to be using anti-grav propulsion?

Yes I'm sure the government is testing all kinds of things. But I don't see how you can tie that to Alien contact.

Seeing something flying in the sky, then saying it's aliens, is jumping to conclusions.

Ahh ok I gotchya.

Although I do think some of the sightings are not the Govt. Not saying we have been contacted by Aliens but it seems unlikely that the secret government had anti-grav technology back in the 50s mastered to the extent that people see huge cigar crafts and disc crafts flying and hovering.

so, does the fact that the 'crafts' are being seen show some kind of intent or mistake on their part? hmmm... to error is alien/human? What I'm getting at is there is a pattern or a reason behind this show-n-tell or do they need to go back to Driver Ed :)

...if I hear Roswell one more time I'm going to throw something.
Roswell!! :D

I don't know if "bored" is the right word. "Frustrated" might be a better one. Over the last 50 years there have been no answers. More questions, more sightings, but no real answers. This can definitely be frustrating to those looking for an answer, which probably has something to do with the whole GFL thing and other off the wall groups/people who claim to have answers, and why people believe them.

I kinda think the lack of answers is part of what keeps the subject interesting. Like any good mystery, you want to hang in there until you find out what happened.

what if the answers are already here, just no one wants to accept them?

Ball lightning, natural atmospheric effects, delusional prone personalities and basic primitive myth.

The ancients saw the same things and said it they were the chariots of the gods, we see the lights, and context them within our current understanding, turning them into technological ships flown by aliens.

All of it is myth, or delusion. But that's not the answer we want to hear is it. :)

Delusional prone personalities and basic primitive myth? Sounds like your describing religion. I'm surprised you didn't blame the whole phenomena on liberals.

I don't think the people here who have had some very deep personal experiences appreciate being called delusional and primitive. Really dude blanket statements like that just amplify your ignorance in regards to the field. Your not actually saying anything. Your just part of the noise.

Hows the JREF these days?

Most people with metal disorders don't like having them diagnosed. But should that stop us from telling the truth?

Should feelings get in the way of what is real?

LOL so we have mental disorders now? I bet ya think our visitors (or whatever you want to call them) are demons don't you. I am not offended by your statements nor do I think other people on this board regard your posts with any real value any more. Your ignorance on the subject is astounding.

I will concede that there are many people who see monsters and demons or whatever everywhere they look. They are everywhere and some are very high profile. But the people on this board are here because we do not accept these individuals and their delusions, we are here because some of us have had very profound and disturbing experiences in our lives for which there are no answers. The show and these boards are were we gather, away from the noise and the poison well.

Ufo's really are boring...gawd. I hate it when the fuckin' swamp gas makes me think there are midgets in teddy bear suits in my house in the middle of the night...and those damn Mogul balloons can look just like some kind of big praying mantis and a bunch of Jawas. Irritating nonsense. And who doesn't know that the Good Year blimp had it's stomach stapled? I know, it looks like a cigar, but now we call it the Star Jones blimp. Those black helicopters...that's just FEMA looking out for our safety. Sometimes my neighbors set up an outdoor discoteque and I really just don't care enough to look out the window. Now if you would please excuse me...I really must go insert my head deeper up my ass.
