They were worried it could be a piece of the shuttle. Ever since the shuttle disaster, NASA was extremely cautious of ANYTHING. Chances are it was probably garbage.
 
Garbage what you mean from were? Its an old video from 2006 so not sure why MSN uploaded it to their site. Its interesting, it just proves astronauts still see things that they can not automatically identify.

Space debris ya possible but we don't know what it is was for sure do we. Your guessing it was garbage but are you 100 per cent sure your right? That's why this video is so interesting NASA didn't know what it was also the Astronauts had no clue what is was.
 
you are right. 49 NASA scientists and astronauts couldn't possibly know anything more than al gore.
 
Wasn't there a satellite collision recently? There is so much junk in space, it is a wonder that it doesn't cause more problems than it does.
