Paranormal Adept
UFO hunting in a balloon? Not really, it was still great fun. This was part of my day on Sat. At one point we made it to 6000 ft. Mostly stayed in the 1000 ft. Range .Landing was a little scary...no steering. At one point the pilot was going to sit down in a parking lot, then decided last minute to abort.... Scary jumping over those trees and lines at low altitude. We had friends on the ground taking pics and we took pics from the balloon.

What happened Stonehart? Was the wind blowing? Inexperienced pilot?

Very very experienced pilot and that is why we lived I should think.

It was a still morning but the northwest wind came up very quickly as we were landing and blew the balloon into a row of very tall pine trees tearing half of one side clean off,.
We crashed hard in the next field over... was very close... I call it my NDE (near death experience).

Wow, scary stuff.Seems you were all very fortunate. This was the first time I have ever rode in a balloon. Our pilot was confident almost cocky. He was a good pilot but I'm not sure how he would have handled something like that.

No its all good, hell I have had buildings collapse around me and balloon crashes in the past few years... so go for it... you know it is strange but you tend not to take life to serious after those sorts of events.
I try not to think of what next however as I have had my fill of close calls.. lol

The balloon was nothing compared to this. This was taken about this time last year. I still need two more jumps before I can jump without a buddy attached. We jumped out at 15,000 feet ...still pretty close to the earth. It goes a LOT faster than the balloon ride!
