US Navy Ship Runs Aground?!?

Foolish Earthling
The USS Guardian has run aground on a reef near the Phillipines.
They are blaming faulty digital navigation.

I'm not a Navy navigation expert, but I do know enough to know that should be impossible.
There are multiple systems controlling navigation from old fashioned mag bearings to GPS to a ships version of VOR, just to name a few of the systems. I do know the Navy tracks all of their ships exact positions 24/7, and can give a navigation warning to the ship remotely.

I'm betting the ships nav system was hacked, and (just specualting here) I'm thinking the Chinese had something to do with it. It could have been a test to see how well a hack would work.
The Navy Department must be pooping thier tighty whiteys right now over this.
I mean IF...and I stress IF.....IF this is true, it is a terrifying prospect for the nations defense.

Interesting. The sources for DNCs include, "standard U.S., foreign and NGA hardcopy charts, Notice to Mariners, imagery, hydrographic surveys and other miscellaneous sources." There's a lot of room for errors in there ( intentional or otherwise ).

They've been given orders the Chinese peoples liberation army ( to prepare for war ) During the weekend the United States backed Japan, in their dispute with China.

This really annoyed China, so tensions are fairly high in that region.
