Using Startpage

The search engine surrogate ( proper term? ) Startpage by Ixquick claims to allow the user to search the web anonymously and with no search entries recorded. Anybody know if this claim is true or how to verify it?

Startpage is good for sensitive search I guess but unless you are an activist or just being plain dodgy there is no real need for using it for day to day searching.

Here is the thing, having all the information the NSA can have is it really of any use to the? You know without filtering all it is is a mountain of information with no road map.

I do not condone the loss of privacy but keep the tinfoil hat on the bench as let us face it the only thing that saves us from bureaucracy is its inefficacy

Very true. We can't live our lives in a haze of paranoia. It's just that the information is seemingly stockpiled for decades and who knows what the road map may eventually be.

And that is the bit that makes me just a tad bit worried, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely every time. But those in power only get away with this crap because we the people let them.
