War Is Peace: Can Science Fight Media Disinformation?

I thought this was an interesting article and worthy of discussion.

I think that this article would have been better served if the author actually focused on the topic rather than attacking the right-wing as a bunch of zombies and morons. There is just as many zombies and morons on the left, if not more. Anyway, I do agree that facts and truth are lacking in reporting the news. There is way too much bias and agenda behind everything, even in scientific communities. Just take a look at the global warming debate.

there is just as little transparency in the news as there is in politics. Good article, but I agree with Truthseeker, bias doesn't lend credit in an article like this.

Would that science were a bastion of rationality. Alas, one read through the U of Anglia's Climate Research Unit emails shows not only scientific bias in action, but intentional perversion of the Scientific Method to make sure, using the original phraseology, that "global cooling = global warming."

Didn't Carl Sagan say something about the greatest problem humanity faces is that it's dependance on science and technology is increasing while the number of people who actually understand that science and technology is decreasing?

The biased approach is a trap, a loop. Everyone who has lost an argument with themselves raise their hands ..

Just like the paranormal topic, the search for any truth requires alot of trudging through false dichotomies and the emotional attachment to a wall of background assumptions.
