All here must remember the Occupy Movement and some such as myself were involved at the grass roots level.

Well I can tell you watch this lot as this is the first shoot from that seed sown back in 2010 that I would give any credence to.

I always said when the idea for Occupy was being dreamed up that it was not the movement that would bring about final social change but simply wake people up.

That it would die down and get over run by those who had a specific agenda.. in short it would become its own enemy............. And it did.

But like so many other forces for change I saw it as simply the turning on of a light in a time of darkness where in time those with a more progressive mind would gather and try and make change.

I am not part of this one as far as organization and on the ground work is concerned (I did my bit back in 2007 to 2011), but I will be watching this very close.

Lee Camp Talking about it....

Fact is this has been an idea brewing for some time now and people are starting to click on to it.. just like Occupy did.

The last time we all rallied together in a loosely knit collective fashion, the Occupy movement was born and the 99% meme brought the corruption of our political and economic system, along with the grotesque inequality of wealth, into mass consciousness in a profound and lasting way. It was the opening act, the awakening wave.

Since the Occupy camps were crushed by brutal police state force, the movement has splintered in many different directions. This is now proving to have been a blessing in disguise. It gave us time to learn from our mistakes, figure out what worked best and forced us back into the autonomous actions that built the movement in the first place. We have now experimented with different tactics and thought through longer-term strategies.

Meanwhile, the repressive conditions that inspired Occupy in the first place have become even more oppressive. Now more than ever, governments no longer have the consent of the governed. A critical mass has lost faith and trust in our existing institutions. The present paradigm has outlived its usefulness. It has been overrun with corruption and rendered obsolete. Our political, economic and legal systems are doing much more to limit our potential than enhance it.

Interesting, they seem to have learned from the mistakes early on.... yes this could get very very interesting indeed.

When Anonymous says they've learned from the past; they will not provide stationary targets; they will be fluid and everywhere what are the implications do you think? In this crowd sourced revolution what will be the manner in which a target will not be provided?

My guess is flash mob for one thing... This is why I am interested as an observer this time around as I am interested in seeing just how they pull this next lot of protests off.
But as for learning from the past that is easy as I was there in a way.
The whole Occupy camp out thing was to be frank flawed from the start and not really thought all the way through, we can not really be blamed for it however as we were trying to think things out as we were going. The problem was we became for example:
(a) A stationary target which could be evicted legal or not.
(b) The website that spawned movement fell into infighting and the group splintered early on (was messy).

Just as an aside note it was never meant to be much more than a basic protest against the Wall Street Banksters in solidarity with the protests going on in Spain and Egypt (in the case of Egypt it was simply to show support for people demanding democracy) etc... it however grew to become much more than that and very fast.

The idea more or less was for it to be kind of like Op Scientology ... but this one really grew legs and became a global mass movement.

Honestly I have no idea how this is going to play out but "watch this space" and I will keep updates etc coming in as I pick up information.

So you want a Revolution?
Does This Not Have Relevance Anymore?

That is a nice song and yeah it is still relevant even today.

I spent a number of hours on line chatting to these young people (and young they are), they are in their early and late 20's for the most part from what I can tell.
They want to change the world, they see the mess that old men have left them (their words not mine) and they don't want that world.. they want something much better and equal.

Above all many just want hope.... think about it and you can understand their position.

Hey good on them I say.
