My 20 Years in the UFO Fog
We begin Week 37 with a very special and also a very exclusive show with my friend and International Film and Television Star Mr. Dwight Schultz.

I first met Dwight back in 1994 when I discovered he had been a fan of my first radio program “UFOs Tonite!” when it was broadcast on the Cable Radio Network. He later told me he had tuned into the show while at home, and early in 1994 I had been invited to give a talk at the Santa Monica Museum of Flying. Dwight came down and introduced himself, and while I certainly knew who he was, I knew him from Star Trek and his film with Paul Newman “Fat Man and Little Boy”. I had never really watched “The A-Team” until later in re-runs. (And then I was really sorry I did not see it when it was first run, my God Dwight’s character Murdock was hilarious!) I invited him on UFOs Tonite! and he accepted and later I asked him if he would like to co-host when in town and he accepted again. Geeze, we had some fun. In 2004 I was invited by a satellite radio network if I would like to do another show, I asked Dwight if he would like to be a part of it (he said yes) and Dark Matters Radio was born. We broadcast for a year until one of our last shows we addressed a particularly egregious website that displayed some very anti-Semitic and anti-US propaganda. We busted this guys ass on the show and then I got a phone call from the satellite network owner, all pissed, because he was going to have this guy come on his network and Dwight and I screwed his pooch. Oh well … we ended up leaving.

Several months ago I contacted Dwight and invited him on the show but he declined because he is now very involved in political talk radio and felt that he had left the UFO/Paranormal thing behind. Then this week-end while going through some files on one of my network drives I found this “never aired interview” that Dwight and I did several months after I left UFO research. (My good-bye paper is available right beneath the radio archives.) I played it … and was blown away. We pulled no punches in this show and I thought Wow! Gotta get this thing on the air. Well here it is Gang … hope you enjoy it!

And Wednesday Sept. 29th ........ A Special Show!

Wednesday September 29 we have a “Special” show planned. If you come here in regards to the show then the odds are excellent you have a UFO interest. And, with that in mind I am sure you are aware of the most recent news (it has been EVERYWHERE!) about the Washington DC Press Event with Robert Hastings and Capt. Bob Salas .. UFO incursions over USAF Nuclear Weapons sites. Both Hastings and Salas were guests on Dark Matters earlier this year.

Well, the press event took place and those news orgs. that didn’t ignore the event were mostly under-whelmed. (And my wife wonders why I LOATHE most of the media!) Well, there is ONE HONEST NEWSMAN that has always reported on the subject with honesty and integrity .. and his name is Billy Cox. He works for the Herald Tribune in Sarasota, Florida and has a webblog called DeVoid: The mainstreams media\'s lonely UFO web log

Billy’s most recent posting is well worth your time to read, he examines the Press Club event and once again showcases what is wrong with the “straight press”. Those lame bastards wouldn’t know a real news story if it jumped up and bit them on their ass! Well, Billy is my guest tonight and we will take a close and in-depth look at what has been happening news-wise on the UFO beat!

The monday show was amazing don, I love listening to Dwight.
With regards to Hastings/Salas press show, i felt that it was marred slightly by some of the questions at the end from people talking about how there have already been nuclear wars on the planet etc. Regardless of whether these sorts of things are true or not, they shouldn't be brought up when making an effort to convince 'Joe Public' that there is actually something to this phenomenon

Let me explain something Hoff, when taking calls I do not (nor do I like) screening calls. I think that is one thing that makes DMR special ... what you hear is what you get. Plus, the idea that there may have been advanced cultures in our distant past or perhaps advanced visitors might have come here is not a new idea. Nor is it a new idea that at one point somebody may have deployed or used weapons of mass destruction. I am not saying that I believe that ... however there are some very strange areas on the planet that still display very high radiation and what looks like the aftermath of a nuclear blast. Why pray tell me would "Joe Public" have any more of a problem with that than lets say ... ET coming here from another planet or "something" popping in from another dimension? Hmmmm??

I wasn't talking about DMR, thats a daily radio show and I don' t think its marred by non screened callers at all, in fact it would be worse without them.
With regards to Hastings press meeting, well that was meant to be helping to convince the public to look for further investigation into the matter. In my view, there is far less evidence of previous nuclear wars on Earth, and actually quite a lot of evidence supporting there not having been advanced culture's here before us. Plus the fact, these things could conceivably be caused by asteroids carrying radioactive material hitting the earth etc.
I believe that when trying to convince 'Joe Public' of such matters, its best to keep it simple, and just present that data you have one thing at a time which is why James Fox and Leslie Kean always make sure they stay away from too much speculation when talking to the press. In this instance it was Hastings turn to talk about the UFO nuke connection in present day, and I don't think it was the right time to try and make the public swallow information about previous nuclear wars, particularly not from a member of the audience who doesnt have an opportunity to present any evidence.
I would say that Hastings agree's with me, since he practically leapt out of his seat the minute the guy speculated about previous nuclear wars, and barked "Do you have a question sir?"
