One of the more plausible theories I have heard is that persistence of contrails is due to some relatively new substance added to the jet fuel itself. Dunno...But I think the opinions of a couple dozen career turbine pilots on this issue might be interesting. Since these guys tend to talk only to other pilots about such things, polling might be a challenge.
I was thinking chemtrails might be an unintended consequence of fiddling with formulations to optimize normal fuel. Or, such additives could be a back door means of introducing certain substances into the stratosphere on behalf of third party interests. Of course, it goes without saying that strong photographic evidence of aircraft specially fitted out for the purpose of spraying weird things at high altitudes would be a kind of smoking gun.I know Branson is trying out vegetable oil, and that other fuel studies are being done to reduce contrail emissions.
