You can see reading the collins elite stuff how such a reality might come as a very bad shock to some humans.
If, the species visting us have populations that are 99% uploaded, and 1% native bioform, which is the ratio you would expect eventually given this technology, Humans not yet at this stage in our evolution would in many cases freak out.
Imagine disclosing that, yes "aliens" are here and when you die they extract "you" and upload it into a cloned bioform (grey?)
Many people would go crazy, not even suicide is an escape..... just the opposite lol
It makes sense to let the kurzweils of this world bring us the technology and get used to the concept on our own terms first.
Thats the parity i suspect our culture needs to attain before we can make contact.
The time travel aspect is a nice twist, its reported abductees get taken as children but that the abductions taper off as the person gets older.
It may be this post biological population of humans (using for now, ET technology) are harvesting the genes needed while the native bioform is still young and genetically clean.
Its possible one of the greys harvesting a 5 year olds genes, is that very same person , coming back down time to gather the material needed for a new optimised clone body.
The grey seems to be optimised for life in the heavens ie a non terrestrial artificial environment. adding time travel to this hypothesis allows you to come back to your native bioform and extract the DNA you might need to create cloned biovessels in perpetuity, optimising the new biovessel for your offplanet existance
Add a society living outside of linear time to this story, and you can see how our own realitys filters make getting your head around the big picture difficult (but not i hope impossible)
