What is that energy?

How do we detect bad or uncomfortable energy?
For example, a room that we have just entered doe's not feel right to us. Suppose minutes before we entered, there had been a very heated argument between two or more people. What do they leave behind? I'm sure we have all experienced this in our live's and i was wondering what is it? Do we all have some kind of sense that we are not aware of and don't consciously use? Or maybe something else is left behind?
John.

Energy is a unit of measure. Which is one of my main complaints with the whole paranormal/supernatural crowd. They often state "energy" but never address what kind of energy.

Matter times speed of light squared. (E = MC2)

The big bang is the transformation of pure energy into matter in an expanding space/time bubble (dimensions). Some theorize that the compression of matter (back to its pure energy state) through a black hole triggers a singularity that expands into parrallel space/time bubble. The sum of everything came from nothing :))

Maybe you're talking about vibrations ? You can actually convert vibrations into energy.

I guess what you mean is, what is that bad atmosphere thing we sometimes pick up on when something like an argument has just occured. Or better yet what Ezechiel brought up, not so much bad energy (Whatever the f..k that is Man) but what we sometimes call bad vibes.
It is one of those things we all experience every now and then and yeah wtf is that?
Could it possibly be pheremones?
If that were the case I would be interested to know if women are more sensitive to this than men.

A couple of years back a friend of mine moved into a townhome. I came to visit a few days after he arrived and he took me into the kitchen. He asked me if anything stood out to me. There was a corner of the room that just didn't "feel" right. I told him this and he said he was hoping he wasn't the only one that noticed that feeling. He called it "feng shui," since he's very much into Asian culture.

Yes, vibes would be a better word for what i am talking about.
As far as feng shui, that is a good example. For instance i know that a bookcase full of books with their spines faceing out is bad. It is described as arrows shooting out giving off bad vibes. Also i know that you should not keep things cluttering up the underside of your bed.

My girlfriend told me a storey about when she and her father visited a pastor in a church. They went there to talk to him about her Mum. Who at the time had got involved in something in the metaphysical realm. (I will find out more later exactly what?) But anyhow, they felt she had changed and was acting very out of character. They were very concerned about her mental state at the time. The pastor listened and began a short prey for her Mother. At that moment, both she and her Father felt a very disturbing presence in the room. A strong feeling of Evil, this did not come from the pastor himself but it was like something else entered the room.
When they finally left, her Father, who by the way is a very down to earth straightforward type of guy. Looked at her and said did you feel that energy? She did and they both agreed they did not want to return. It left them feeling very shaken.

Again, I think we all have some capacity for this kind of sense, but in our daily lives it is not used or needed for the most part. With all the other distractions going on that ability is put on the back burner. Animals probably make more use of these senses because they have to, to survive. Even ones that spend a lot of time around us.
How for instance can a dog strolling along on his daily walk all of a sudden sense something wrong with another person walking toward him? I have had this on many occasions. I know my dogs and have given them no reason to fear anyone.

John.

I trust my dog's judgement of people better than I trust some of my friends' judgement of people. Dogs though, are able to pick up on subtle body language that we pay no attention to...they also can smell things that we'll never know about...
