What's the status of the Varginha case?

If it still holds up, in many ways this has a lot more going for it than Roswell: multiple still-living witnesses, an emphasis on actual beings and so on.
I know Roger Leir has been investigating this in recent years, and I seem to recall that his most recent trip to Brazil was somewhat disappointing (I'm still not sure what to make of Dr Leir but I think he's sincere at least).

But anyway, what do you all think of this one? Busted or strong? Any new developments?

PS. One of the things I like about this one is the fact that the reported entities are quite different from the popular conception of "Greys" - it's always interesting when people report seeing something other than what they might be expected to know they're "supposed" to see.

I think this is much stronger than Roswell. I think in time key witnesses like the supposed Doctor who operated on the entity may get enough courage to speak openly on radio etc.

For now, all we can do is take the word of the researchers.

I often wonder if that "alien" was responsible for influencing Chupacabra reports. It has certain characteristics of a chupa and happened a little before Chupa reports began.

 can you say Mothman?

Varginha city council meeting:

Mr Mayor: Our town's tourism income was how much last year? :) ...............Bring on the aliens!!!!!!

Actually, the 1990s wave of "Chupacabras" reports (in Puerto Rico) started in 1995 e.g. the daylight sighting of Mrs Tolentino in Sep-1995:

The Varginha incident comes later (Jan-1996).

PS: I go over all this in my "UFO occupants" web-page, which I've linked to several times already in this forum.

Looks like I was off by a year or two. Thanks.
