Yeah Bob, it's pretty hard to even guess at the provenance of moon photos unless we know they are from a source such as Nasa or ESA etc. I don't know about this particular object but there are photos of some interesting objects that seem to stick up enough vertically to cast a fair shadow. On balance I do think there are probably some very weird objects on the moon.
