Who is Ray Kurzweil?

Skilled Investigator
I think Richard Dolan mentioned him, I understand he writes about computers and the future of technology, can anyone explain what he believes is going to happen and how this could relate to UFOs?

Nope, not yet anyway.

Wikied him though. He's no lightweight.

Edit: Hmmm

Scroll down to what the futurist predicts by 2029. We'll be somewhat alien ourselves before, in later years, we become immortal with our machine parts. Whoa.

This is interesting too. Under the heading of 2019, he says:

People communicate with their computers via two-way speech and gestures instead of with keyboards.

Not sure if I mentioned it on this board or not recently, but a young man I know used a glove rather than a keyboard when working for Microsoft. He made gestures to write programming. The public doesn't get that now, but it's already here.

Kurzweil's big issue now is something he calls the "Singularity." (coined by Vernor Vinge). The idea is that things are advancing so fast tecnology wise that we will soon be unable to predict the future. This is true in medicine, nanotechnology, robotics, and genetic research. This is not really UFO related except in that it is an argument that 'we' are not so very far behind 'them.' See: http://www.kurzweilai.net for a lot of comprehensive information. Kurzweil has written some interesting books. One that shows his thinking on these issues is "The Singularity is near; when humans transcend biology" and another is "The age of spiritual machines." He's an engaging author and well worth the read. Recommended.

I know I have heard him on podcasts before, but can't remember which one. Unfortunately, when you search on Itunes it doesn't seem to search the show notes. Anyway, just put in Kurzweil and the word singularity into Google, it pulls up a lot.

Perhaps they could get Ray Kurzweil or anyone else who could talk about this "Singularity" on the show with Richard Dolan, that would make very interesting listening considering Dolan's thoughts on what the aliens might be, here is a link to an article by Richard Dolan:
