who was Valient Thor?

Free episodes:

I think it has been pretty thoroughly debunked as a hoax. A simple Google search should bring up all the pros and cons should you decide to investigate further.

If I remember correctly, Frank Stranges tried to sell "Stranger at the Pentagon" as a science fiction novel. This would be a big red flag for me. Perhaps some of the other forum members will be able to jump and let me know. There have been short discussions of it on the show, and some of the guests didn't feel this book was that compelling. I don't remember specific guests, but Jim Moseley may have been one.
I think the name of the alien would be a big tip off. The name Valient Thorr (Valiant Thor) is obviously a riff on a Norse god. (and the fact this story is accepted wholeheartedly by the exopolitics crowd)
I am sure that there is additional information out there for you to find if you should choose to do so.

Phil Schneider mentions him in his lectures. That's what I believe is generally referred to as a "red flag". I wouldn't put any validity to the Thor story.

The name didn't sound familiar so I looked Phil up. (YIKES!)

Valient Thorr? Indeed, they are very real :) and when my friend asked the lead singer where they were from he said, "We are from Venus", to which my friend responded, "Wow, that's a hell of a long way to travel for a gig". The guy didn't even break a smile.

Never heard of that. Supposedly Valliant Thor was also photographed in the backyard of none other than Howard Menger. Seems like someone took some effort making connections.
After all this time I've also never come across sources remarking that the person on the photographs is someone they recognized as family, friend or next door neighbour. There are some peculiarities. Of course that doesn't mean the story is true.

Well, the guy in the the photo could have been somebody's cousin from Europe making his one and only trip across the Atlantic and back. Don't even get me started on the goofy photographs and the supposed trips to the moon.
