Nah, Ohio is considered by most to be a Mid Western state, or part of the Great Lakes Region, either way we aren't coastal. Why do you ask?

Either the media is suddenly turned onto space rocks because earth news is geting staid, or various space agencies are looking for same level or increased funding, or ... we're being prepared for the bigger stuff which is coming our way. ;)

Seriously tho, there does seem to have been a step change in the reporting of these objects and before the russia fireball popped over.
