It drives me nuts when people become pretentious when it comes to TV. The "I don't have a TV so I'm better than you attitude" reaches hipster levels of annoyance in my book. People can enjoy TV, even shitty TV, and still be quite cultured. I love reality TV, does that mean I'm uncultured? I also speak three languages (I live in Montreal, most people I know speak at least 2 or 3 languages, it's normal) and have a degree in art history, as well as a background in science. I'm not trying to toot my own horn or anything (even though I'l like totally brilliant ;)) but the attitude that only morons watch TV just gets me going. It's almost as bad as the "you're an armchair researcher so you know nothing" attitude that's prevalent when anyone questions a paranormal researcher.
