How is this "the mind of the middle"? These are right-wingers answering questions asked by a left-winger. And while the ignorance and sub-surface bigotry is certainly depressing, I guarantee there are just as many uninformed people in the Obama camp (statistically there would have to be more) who are supporting Barack for some stupid reason completely divorced from his platform.

Depressingly, this dovetails neatly with your earlier post about the monkeys: Here one monkey is asking other monkeys which monkey in a suit deserves to be head monkey, oblivious to the fact that we're all just monkeys...

Looks like the typical pitchfork and book burning Republican crowd to me. They should have just stayed home and made idiotic photoshop "jokes" for the net about McCains opponent like they always have before. It would have saved them the trouble of being asked questions they don't have answers for. It seems that those who want to make some negative association with Obamas background are making something up to avoid the fact they would never vote for a black.:p

Yes, but referring to Obama as a terrorist - or someone with terrorist connections or blood lines - is just a little more extreme than the norm.

You can't expect willfully ignorant people to make rational statements. Even explaining to them that "Hussien" is a very common name in muslim countries, equivelant perhaps to "Dave" in America, isn't going to help them dis-associate that name from Saddam, WMDs, terrorism and all things bad and un-American.

Perhaps your expectations are too high?
