Paranormal Adept
Although for me personally, the second part was the more interesting one, I enjoyed the whole show. Mr James comes across as an honest truthseeker, like Chris, which you really have to value considering the many letdowns from TV and show business regarding paranormal stuff. The fact that he also seems to engage in the spiritual side of things without buying into every wild theory makes him kind of a kindred spirit to me personally. When I heard his "conscious echo theory", I was quite hesitant at first, but considering the strange, often dreamlike or "half-conscious" behaviour that has been reported with apparitions, EVPs, DVPs etc, that might actually explain some aspects. Guess there are wilder speculations in that field.

Involuntary armchair thinker that I am:D , I really would like to get a hold of these Dead Whisper DVDs.I don't watch Ghosthunter stuff etc. and have always looked for a good documentary about EVPs, hauntings etc. Unfortunately, no hits on amazon.de. Seems I can't get a hold of them here in Germany.

Thanks for the link, problem is I don't like to do payment via internet and stuff. That's why I had hoped it would be available at amazon.de

PayPal is pretty secure. Otherwise, contact Ron and maybe he can accept a credit card or something else. You can also pay via credit card through the PayPal link. They don't require a PayPal method. With a credit card, your bank would protect you if something got hacked along the way.

Yeah, maybe I'll try with PayPal. Can you believe that I'm from a place where there's actually people who haven't got a credit card (myself included I'm afraid)?
Thanks again, Gene.

Oh and btw Mr James was right in that it might surprise some of us listeners to hear about Chris's research into haunting cases etc. I hadn't known that. Hope that means we'll hear more of that in the future.

Good show, though I have to admit I got annoyed at his "swimming with dolphins" story/idea... When will people realize that there is nothing spiritual or special about dolphins, and that they are in fact an extraordinarily cruel and evil (though fairly intelligent) predator.

Would you be alright with a buddy of yours killing a baby, so he can get laid with the mother? Hell no?! Then don't accept the same behavior from a dolphin!

I'm glad Ron came on the show. Hearing that the dissenting opinions of people like John Alexander and George Knapp were included in the documentary makes me a lot more interested in seeing it. That along with knowing more about who is absent, too!

I think few will be happy if "Disclosure" comes, as it could fall far short of the fantastic expectations. Alexander may be right, and it is closer to "we've put aside some weird data that we can't figure out..."

The Conscious Echo theory caught my attention too. It seems a very interesting attempt to explain spectral phenomena, although I wish something could be done to test these ideas beyond the mere satisfaction of our subjective expectations of what a ghost is and what it can or cannot do.

Is there a trailer for the Disclosure videos I can plug in at The Daily Grail?

Great show.

Interesting story, happened this morning:

I had begun listening to this show on Sunday night, and got around halfway through. Last week the wife and I were on vacation in Maui, and we got back Sunday evening. Yesterday was a holiday here in Canada so we both had that day off as well, and I took today off, but my wife was back to work this morning. The darned alarm clock didn't go off this morning (first day back after vacation, must have been fate!) So with my being home from work, and her now late for work, instead of her taking transit, I offered to drive her to work, which I did. I brought along my iriver to listen to the rest of this episode of The PC.

Now, as I say, I was around halfway through, and the drive to her office is around 1/2 hour. I dropped her off, went to Starbucks to grab a coffee, then headed back home. While in Maui, I got more than my share of sun, and my bald head attests to that, with skin flaking off happily... my arms, my feet and the rest of my head are also a bit burned, but not painful, just enough to make me happy and miss Maui already. At any rate, while at a stop light, I was looking in the rearview mirror and began scratching my eyebrows. I had noticed during the trip that they were very unruly, with my forehead burned up by the sun and swimming in the ocean etc. And they were itchy. So I scratched, BOTH of them, gave them a good mangling to relieve the same sort of itching I'm feeling on my head and my back. I even patted them back to clean them up a bit.

A few minutes later ( can't be sure exactly how much later, but the drive is around 1/2 hour so let's tag it at 5-10 minutes), I was listening to the portion of the episode dealing with time, timelines, time echos, interactive EVP, conscious echoes etc.

At around the 1:50 mark:
The "that was something else" comment... Very striking story about the attic. The comment was made in the room. When they reviewed the tape from the attic, 5 minutes after the recorder was put down, and 45-50 minutes earlier than Don had stated himself, something like "that was something else, wow..." was recorded on the tape.

At around the 2:30 min mark:
Now here's where the chills come in for me - Chris...
"We still don't know how we're able to - uh - scratch our eyebrows."

Waaa?! What did Chris just say??

AND!! Chris' comment comes around 45 minutes after my simple event - scratching both my eyebrows - happened! :) how about that, folks? LOL!!

Now, I've listened to every single Paracast episode. I doubt the phrase "scratch our eyebrows" has even been uttered once in that entire time, never mind the fact that it was mentioned in the context of a show dealing with EVP and time dilation, and the comment came around 45 minutes after I was scratching my eyebrows!

amazing. :)

Great synchronicity story! Has something like this happened to you before?

That's pretty neat. I love coincidences like that. One that seems to happen often to me is I may be listening to something and I type a word just as it's said on what I'm listening to.

Maybe you should link to something more substantial:

Do People Only Use 10 Percent Of Their Brains?: Scientific American

Or how about the New York Times:

Medical Myths Even Doctors Believe - NYTimes.com

This one is good too:
Discovery Health "Are you really only using 10 percent of your brain?"

However, if your mind is made up, there's no point in discussing this.

you are kidding right? Scientific American? NYTimes? how about posting something from The Onion too?

The baby killing reference is silly. Humans kill babies all the time. I guess you have accepted that.

Let me guess: you don't like them because they rely on the considerable scientific data that contradicts your idea that humans are not partly responsible for the change in climate over that past century, right? That's not what this thread is about. Please don't derail it, okay?

Angelo, You are absolute proof that humans only use a small percent of their brain. ;)
