Alien message: Get rid of your nukes

That's the Robert Salas conclusion. It makes sense.. but isn't it also a veiled threat ? As in get rid of your nukes or we'll take control ?... it could also be: Stop wasting your time with these nukes, we can effortlessly disable them.

The glowing red color of the UFO at the gate may have been significant. Isn't red universally recognized as anger, violence, energy, blood ?!

You've got a glowing red ufo at an extremely sensitive location, disabling nukes LOL. I mean, if we don't get the point, we truly are brain dead :D !!

The only thing missing from this account is the Russian equivalent in the same time frame. Its illogical to have only an American account, the Russian piece of the puzzle is essential... you would think ?!

The former Soviet Union's accounts are rife with examples of UFO sightings and ... George Knapp broke a huge story of a UFO's interference with a Soviet launch facility back in the early to mid 80's. ABC News had a prime time show on in the early 90's that featured George Knapp's story with footage and interviews with former Soviet soldiers stationed at the launch site during the encounter. The Russians had big problems, just like we did, with UFO incursions over military bases.

IMHO, building a Russian/American timeline of documented cold war UFO events in which a correlation could be established would be useful. If these E.T.'s are attempting to communicate through demonstrations of the sort... it has to be an effort that covers the planet.

If the demonstration hypothesis is valid, you should be able to graph the number of occurences in chronological order by country. There shouldn't be a discrepency between the two charts.... unless the idea is to destabilize the planet ;)

OK, let's take this at face value, especially after the last show. UFOs are giving us a 'message' about our nukes.

Why?

Everyone kept talking about UFOs coming from far away, whether it was by zooming through 'hyperspace,' as Hastings discussed, or some other exotic means of beating the speed of light. They had to fly past (or circumvent) a few stars, at least, that put out more radiation and more destructive power in a second than all the nukes we have. So I don't buy the argument that exploding a few weak nukes would 'alter the fabric of space and time.' Super Novas would do that, too. If we 'destroyed the planet' it would barely be news on Mars and Venus, much less some distant civilization. In other encounters with UFOs it is quite evident that they hold no compassion for us at all. They treat us like research subjects, at best. I also have a hard time with the argument that they want our planet and so want it to be pristine when they take over. OK, that's a nice theory, but there's not much evidence one way or another. I think it is fair to say that it is speculation.

So what would motivate these guys to want a given outcome one way or another? Is there anything in the nature of the phenomenon itself that might yield an answer?

Actions speak volumes they say... Ok, so they've disabled nukes... Maybe they're playing with us. Maybe not.

I've proposed that deciphering 'intent' could be done with statistical analysis of occurences. If Russian data was made available we could probably get a better idea of an underlying non-political universal message.

The action of disabling nukes in a localized area is ridiculous without a planetary perspective... would a planetary effort at resolving 'intent' trigger disclosure by default ?

Its hard to believe that aliens would have no concept of politics, diplomacy and would act on a foreign planet without attempting communication first. At first glance, it looks like arrogance and contempt.... Perhaps this served as inspiration to primitive races and helped them develop the idea of judgemental gods.

I like that idea of analyzing data statistically to start hypothesizing on motivation.

I really don't buy the idea that these events to send a message on the evils and dangers of nuclear war. I agree with Schuyler that our well being is an issue not high on their priority list.

This begins to make sense (to me) when viewed within the context of the cryptoterrestrial hypothesis. They would want to create/test technologies that could control and prevent a nuclear war on a planetary scale. Not for our sake but their own. These sightings could be a series of data gathering, technology testing, experiment evaluating, events.

Just a thought.

I need help with this concept. What would such an analysis look like? I'm no expert on statistics, but I can do it if I have the formula in front of me along with a cookbook. We know these 'interferences' have taken place in the US and in the former USSR. I've not heard anything about such things taking place in France, China, Great Britain, Israel, Pakistan, India, Iran, or North Korea. (Did I get all of them?) Is that what you had in mind?

what if detonation of abombs interfered with their craft's ability to travel between whatever dimensions or such? would that be a good motive for keeping an eye on things?

The idea is to measure potential manipulation of this planet by an alien race, if such a thing is possible. Why would the U.S. be the statistically dominant target of alien races and be the only one to be told to shut down its nuclear defense operations. If these actions are meant to send a message... why limit the scope to the U.S. military ?

Its a bit like Jesus of Nazareth :D. Are aliens choosing the U.S.A. as its messenger ROFL.

Now that the cold war is over, getting Russian cases to match the american experience should be easier ;) ... you would think ?

Yeah, I could see that, but the Universe is vast and the chances of a few puny blasts on Eath interfering with them seems statistically remote to me, especially since any single star emits a lot more radiation and energy than a nuclear blast.

However, if they aren't actually traveling very far at all.....

The Founding Fathers would probably agree with that.

I thought we already had corraboration that more or less the same thing happened in the USSR. I'm not sure we have any information on the rest of the Nuclear Club, however. Visiting North Korea right about now would probably be a good thing. Of course, the Aegis Class Arleigh-Burke DDGs might see them!

that's what I mean. interfering with their propulsion or space-bubbling whatsit as they scoot around our little rock.

'Space Bubbling whatsit' -- I love it! I don't think it's enough motivation, myself. When a hurricane hits, you just stay away for a few days and wait for the locals to patch the bars back up and re-stock the liquor.

I don't think they'd bother if it was just a case of temporarily disrupting their transportation to a far flung outpost any more than we would care if a couple of opposing tribes in the New Guinea Highlands were to have a little 'war' and kill a couple of natives. I think a whole lot more would have to be at stake here.

Oh darn !!!

Didn't think of that ;)

You never hear of a UFO disarming a catapult, disintegrating a bazooka, zapping a cluster-bomb tipped missile. Is that because it is not harmful to the entire planet? Certainly nuclear weapons can afford us Mutually Assured Destruction, and so too can climate change, but you don't see an armada of UFO's going after coal plants or Hummers.

So somehow the nukes are threatening to;
the agenda of these UFO's, and
the occupants,
Which makes me want to agree with Mac Tonnies, perhaps they share the planet with us.
Mothman hates nuclear winters?
Reptilians, what would they eat if we were gone?
Probably the Grays , whose hybridization program would be kinda screwed over.

Tee hee. Okay, I admit it. I was fishing for that! Sorry. It's the only thing that makes sense to me.

From a human perspective, its current technological limits and understanding of the mechanics of this universe, co-existance is the hypothesis that makes the most sense.

That's what I would call the limits of the box as per human comprehension.

Problem with ufology, is that whatever is out there has busted these limits a long time ago. The intersection between their framework and ours offers us very little insight on their limitations.

Saying that you can evaluate a civilization working beyond Einsteinian limitations is a bit pretentious ;)

Getting a guy like Leonard Susskind on the show would be awesome and probably would freak everybody out :D

Is anyone else besides me skeptical of the UFOs and Nukes cases because they allegedly happened during the cold war? Do we have any first hand witnesses of the actual craft? Salas didn't see the craft, he only heard about it over the radio. Are there any first hand witnesses in the Malmstrom case? Moreover, Bruce Fenstermacher even considers that his fellow officers were just playing a joke on him, which indicates that he didn't get a particularly good look at the alleged craft. A more likely explanation is not that his officers were playing a joke on him; instead, they could have been under orders to fabricate the incident as a part of a psych op.

Perhaps this is why the military hasn't moved to prevent these men from telling their stories. The military knows that they're just second hand stories.

Even Lt. Bob Jacobs, a first hand witness, saw the craft on a video tape. Is it concievable that the military, in 1964, could have tampered with the tape, created a special effect, to make it seem as though a UFO were shooting down the missile? It's a video tape, a tape we haven't seen. I am wondering if, 45 years later, Jacobs remembers what he saw well enough to be sure that it wasn't a crappy special effect.

There always seems to be one small problem with many of these cases, just enough to allow the military room for plausible deniability.

I'm extremely skeptical about the UFO/Nukes combo. That's why its critical to get USSR/China/...etc. counter-validation of this behavior in the same cold war time frame.

A targetted demonstration like the one suggested by the Malmstrom case has destabilizing effects if it occurs in only one part of the world. If it happened in Malmstrom AFB and there was a purpose to the event, it definitely had to happen in most countries with equivalent nuclear defense systems. .... or else this makes absolutely no sense (unless you're trying to build a religion).

Yes, a lot of these military cases could be fabricated to incite intentional leaks. Do they want to start a religion? I don't know. If they are intentional leaks, the military certainly seems to desire that the public believe in extraterrestrial UFOs.
