 Holy Shit, Jim! He speaks English! ;) :p

Just saw this thread, but have to leave before I can read through it...

I will just say right quick that my 7 year old Son and I have watched every single Star Trek episode from every series short of the last 3 of DS9, and the final of Enterprise. We have watched all of the movies together as well, and are about to shit our pants to go see the new one when it comes out.

We watch those together while we work on model rockets, a bunch. He has had a lot of inner stimulation, on technical things, moral things, social things, all kinds, from that and the Star Wars stuff, and some others... but those are "the big two"... actually, in order (it's ok to disagree), Star Wars, then Star Trek. He got started on Wars at 2 when he saw R2D2 over my shoulder and said "What's that blue robot... I wanna see that blue robot"... a few days later he had to have his own TV and DVD player because I just could not watch it any more!!! He watched the whole trilogy, over and over in order for weeks... I let him do it because I could tell he was connecting ALL KINDS of synapses and it was positive stuff mostly by far (lasers are different than gangster guns... know what I mean?). I was there to always answer his many, many questions and it was amazing to watch him learn so much so fast and really be thinkin about some good deep stuff, and in a very wholesome way.

Just the other night we were talking about the reasons that heroes sometimes "go to the dark side", and we concluded that it was because they lose all contact with love (for yourself doesn't count if there is none of for others as well, but many of them seem to also lose self love).

Anyways, Star Trek is fantastic with me, to say the least. I do not dress up in costumes and go to cons, but I let the subject matter weigh heavily upon me and my family... it is good stuff... very stimulating.

I noticed that, too! what is with the backcountry boy speak ET?

I don't mean this rudely, or meanly, but I am curious as to the two disparate styles of speech coming through in your postings.

Depends on mood / mode. Sometimes I type closer to what I talk, and I already have to train it back. I am used to typin on local forums and my fangers just Liberace themselves over the keys like I hear in my head.

I always liked Star Trek. Mostly the originals, but the rest were ok too.
Shatner is still my favorite bad actor (Hasselhoff is a close second).
I still have a copy of his "Transformed Man" record, which I have converted to digital. If you're interested in a copy, drop me a line and I'll see what I can do. (It still sounds like a record...)

I once went to ST convention, at which I got to shake Roddenberry's hand. Good times...

Oh, and Counselor Troi.....smokin'!
