Pavement? There's a blast from the past! May as well throw in Dinosaur Jr and Sebadoh... pavement ahh happy days at university.......

Oh my god ... three terrible bands that I'd forgotten about . Pavement were just a Fall wannabe band. Dinosaur Jr ... were just ... horrible. And Sebadoh ... what the flamin eck is a Sebadoh when its at.

Now The Happy Flowers. They were a band not to mess with. Check this out, and be educated in proper music:

Dinosaur Jr terrible - take that back sir and damn your eyes! (Chuckle) - well it must be a generation thing. All these bands were considered alternative at the time ... but then went onto achieve some sort of mainstream recognition... maybe there is a parallel(?) with the attitude towards the paranormal?

Nope since I was at university and heard these bands first singles on John Peel on Radio One in the UK (I now live in NZ), and thought they were terrible then ... hehe. Mind you I thought Nirvana were pretty awful too (still do infact), and were just ripping off the Pixies. Their first single though "Sliver" was ok but it was downhill after that.

I did like early Napalm Death though, and Slint, and Babes in Toyland (before they went awol) ... and The Fall (who couldn't??) and of course the Happy Flowers ... lol ... so I do have incredibly good taste. Oh and as for the Buzzcocks. Geez talk about wet blankets :D

Best wishes

paraschtick (who is always right ... unless he's wrong of course ... but that goes without saying ... so I wont ... :D)

ps The Buzzcocks ... whaaa haa haa haaarrghhh ... what a bunch of big girls blouses ...

pps anyone remember, "Mega Armageddon Death" by The Electro Hippies?? Damn ... I could never get that bloody tune out of my head ...

I was never a fan of The Fall - alot of my friends were but I just couldn't get into them... early Napalm Death... the jury has always been out with that one... I agree with you comments about Nirvana, but not sure how Dave Ghrol managed to be so successful with Foo Fighters... stadium rocktastic eh? Not 'alf!

Oh boy, I can't list mine, changes a lot. I love rock music, so I think I have to give kudos to 'B. Sabbath and Led Zeppelin at least. Iron Maiden, Slayer...
