nice list, i think I would say every one of them has contributed in disinformation of this topic in some form, they are all guilty of contributing to the mess ufology is today. I can accurately say that I know no one that would look at this thread and say its not nuts.

Clearly we disagree about certain things.

But I dont want to get into debate arguments. I used to get into flame wars online long ago and it just is not worth both of our time. I will just leave it at that.

By Good, I had heard it was somewhat entertaining. Not accurate to how the CIA works.

As far as flame wars go, that's pretty laughable considering you were the one who backhandedly insulted me.

That list has a load of crap - Budd Hopkins, Jerome Clark, Stan Friedman are "bad guys", while Boylan, Hoagland and Robert Dean are credible? Gimme a break.

I assumed the list itself was some sort of joke.

People actually thought that was real? Or it was supposed to be?

Wow. You sound like me. Usenet days phase you out of the flames wars? It did me.

Think Tommy was being humorous in the first post that sent you off btw. He was having fun with me. The Spies Like Us bit. My impression at least.

I found that list it was posted in 1997 btw so its 12 years old.

Glenn Clambell posted it.

Oh well.

I do like Robert Dean BTW I think he is a very interesting story.

but I agree with the rest of David's thoughts

And what's up with Speilberg, I mean, Transformers, the latest Indiana Jones. It could be called Covert, I asked a group of friends what they thought of the ufo -Alien connection in the film. They replied it was about robots, the underlining theme completely went over top of there heads.

Glenn Clambell posted it.

Oh well.
Was it Hurricane Ike that leveled Galveston, or was it really Glen Campbell?

I'll bet ninety nine percent of the people involved in critiquing people in the field behind their unsuspecting backs are agents themselves. How's that?

:D

Wow... That's an interesting thought.

I am very critical of a lot of people in this field, yet I'm not paid to do so. I guess that just makes me an asshole.

Not certain. But experience has taught me that you don't become a person of calibre by dishing out cheap shots.

So do you hate Don Rickles? David Letterman? Robin Williams?

And it genuinely makes me laugh when folks think that we're covert operatives - I've personally been accused of that by some of the biggest asshats in the UFO "field". Truly funny stuff.

In my view, CIA agents and the like do not pose as UFO researchers. Instead, spooks pose as highly credible witnesses and "leak" various aspects of the truth to different researchers. Greg Bishop's book "Project Beta" demonstrates this readily, dealing with the Bennewitz, Moore, Doty situation that led to so many modern UFO myths.

Take a researcher like Richard Dolan. We have here a highly paranoid though intelligent individual with a conspiracy bias (a tendency to think that everything can be explained as a part of some grand, overarching conspiracy). If I am a military General and want to protect "the truth" from probing researchers like him, I talk to him personally and pretend to be fed up with secrecy, using him as the unknowing mouthpiece of the disinformation. I tell him, for example, that Corsco was legit, that Bob Lazar worked at A51, that private industrial/internationalists are now in control of UFO secrecy, etc., etc. If I do not talk to him personally, I dispatch one of my spooks to do it.

This example doesn't mean that there aren't agents posing as UFO researchers. I suppose that there could be. What I've described appears to be so much simpler, however.

A great way to find out who's legit and who isn't, is to find out who the parent company is of their publishers.

About a third of all publishers end up being front companies for the government.

Paladin Press is a shining example.
