DMT: Encountering Entities

Free episodes:

Absolutely fascinating reports Brandon, I hope to finally make it to the Amazon in time to experience 'la purge' in the correct environment, and complete a 3-month (they vary, the retreats as you know) Ayahuasca diet, or the Dieteros' program of sorts.

I grow Banisteriopsis Caapi (ie: Ayahuasca for those not in the know), Psychotria Carthaginensis, Brugmansia Arborea, Brugmansia Candida (variegated), so I am not unfamiliar at all with what you are describing. I refuse to ingest the Ayahuasca for many fundamental reasons, mainly because a bonding must take place between the 'plant teacher' and the participant, & my B.Caapi will require atleast another 5 years before it is of the age & maturity to produce a substantial vine.

All of that aside, i've ingested Psilocybin, LSD, Salvia, Marijuana; but DMT is just one of those things, you know. An experience you will never, EVER forget.

Safe travels,

Goody.

I drink Gin. Whoooohoo.... and stuff.

Gin is nice. Mmmmmmmmmm.

I should have mentioned that my post wasnt a 'look at me & how I have altered my mind with THIS MANY SUBSTANCES', I was merely expressing that DMT is literally, as far as you can go without dying.

6 Billion citizens of the Earth are completely illegal according to the muppets in Government.

Or:

'DMT': You're ALL Holding.

Another interesting side-anecdote from my ayahuasca ceremonies:

After I came home from my trip to Peru, I discovered that a dark mole of some sort had appeared 2 inches below my navel. I don't have any moles and this had never happened to me before. I was kinda weirded out, but there was no pain involved so I wasn't really worried.

After coming back from Peru I began reading the Castaneda books and they've had a massive impact upon me. I've seen some of the things described in those books, even though the descriptions were read after the fact.

The books describe the development of a "sorceror", one who is able to move between realities while retaining his sense of identity. One facet of the sorceror's training is the ingestion of psychedelic plants, and one result of this training is the development of what is called "will", which is basically like a psychic force.

Well according to the books this force of will emanates from a point 2 inches below the navel.

I don't think this necessarily means anything, because even though I've had "psychic"-type experiences, I don't consider myself psychic. But I couldn't help but notice that this weird thing appeared right after I came back from Peru, right in the place where Will is supposed to emanate from as a result of learning with the psychedelic plants.

That's approximately the same area where the Dan Tian lies. It's a seat of qi in qigong theory and lies in that area but a few inches inside the body. I think it is also mentioned in some forms of martial arts (which I don't know much about).
Is the mole still there by the way?

Very weird that you ask that... the reason I even brought this up is because I noticed recently that it is completely gone. There isn't even a scar or a mark where it once was.

But it was basically like a mole, meaning that it was fairly large and protruded out, and it was dark brownish in color.

I tried a psychedelic substance about 10 minutes ago, a substance called Salvia Divinorum. The kind that I bought is 10X, or ten times the strength of normal extract. I believe that that is the meaning of the designation.

Oh my, what a fun experience. I must say that, presently, the degree to which I am tripping ranks far lower than my state only a short time ago, though it would be false to say that I am back to normal. You must ask of me only what is right and true, I resent lies and other forms of deception.

At the beginning of the experience, a mere 10 minutes ago, I began with a small hit of the substance. Suddenly, I began drifting off, my head nodding aside and eyes closing slowly and reopening again, squinting though not to see something afar. In my desk chair sat a shadow like figure whom I took to be my best, life long friend, as if it was and had been the plainest thing in the world. My sense of time and reality slowly began to lose cohesion (even more so); I began doubting the reality of the shadowy friend, thinking that it was some kind of a deception. In response, the friend told me that I had simply taken a pussy hit and needed to man the fuck up and hit it harder. Then I loaded the pipe again and hit the plant harder and longer, holding it in.

My head began to drift off again, then I completely zonked out and entered a dream like phase, though still awake. Suddenly I thought that my entire apartment room was filled up with my best friends from my youth, a group of guys and a girl or two with whom I still talk, except that I thought that we were all in the sixth grade again and wanting to go swimming at the pool. My argument was that the timing was bad for a swim at the pool, we cannot go. Everyone else wanted to go, but I was suggesting that we not go. In the back of my mind, I had the sneaking suspicion that things were not as they seemed to be. Now, of course, I know that I was trying to remember that I had just smoked a plant called Salvia Divinorum -- but I could not remember it. I began boiling some water on the stove because I got the impression that a friend wanted some hard boiled eggs.

Finally, I began coming out of the delusions enough to sit down and write this. Wierdest of all was the realization that I was alone in the room, though at first I thought that a shadow being had been with me followed by an entire group of childhood friends! I am not going to edit any of it because, as such, it would not be an accurate recording of what it’s like to begin coming out of a salvia trip (it’s still completely legal, Gene and Dave, so this is not an advocation of illegal drugs). I should go turn off the stove and pour out the boiling water. On second thought, perhaps I will have some eggs.

I have an update, a bizarre synchronicity about the salvia experience. I talked to my sister on the phone tonight and told her about the experience described above. Around the same time that I was tripping, she says that she was hungry and began making hard boiled eggs!

Something weird I've realized from the psychedelics: The "dream" experience is going on all the time at every moment, and not only when sleeping. The difference is that when I'm awake my conscious mind assumes dominance, and for some reason my awareness is cut off from what the subconscious part of my mind is experiencing.

In the Castaneda books there are terms used that correspond to these two parts: Tonal and Nagual.

I think that the area of the mind that is experienced in dreams is the area that is interconnected with other living things, and so it wouldn't be surprising that one might have an experience simultaneously with a friend or sibling.

In my opinion it's stupid to assume that what my conscious mind is aware of at this moment is representative of my *entire* experience at this moment.

A nice example of this is color-psychology. It has been established that certain colors have a definite psychological effect on people. It has also been established that these colors have an equal effect on color-blind people who are unable to consciously perceive the color that is affecting them.

I have an update, a bizarre synchronicity about the salvia experience.

I am supposed to try salvia soon. And I have heard it doesn't last long at all like you said. In my youth I did some drugs I have to say, so your salvia experience sounds very mild. And that's not a bad thing, if I only have a mild experience I won't be too disappointed. I don't do extremes anymore.

I've tried this once. It actually is quite intense but very short-lived.

I don't have any sort of "drug connections" and I actually know very little about those sort of things, even though I've always been interested in psychedelics. Well I always told myself that since I didn't know how to hook myself up with the goods, if the situation arose where I could try a new one I would consider that circumstance to be the best of circumstances and try it.

So I was DJing at a club one night and brought the crowd to have an afterparty at my house, and some people showed up with salvia and a bong. Even though there was a vague "red light" in the back of my mind, I followed through with my initial decision and smoked it in my kitchen surrounded by a bunch of people I didn't know.

The crazy thing about salvia, and I've seen this several times so I think it's pretty reliable, is that it hits you almost *immediately* after you exhale. Your world is immediately turned 180, and even though DMT is stronger it is not nearly that fast-acting.

Well immediately after exhaling everyone and everything in the room transformed. They were the same people but definitely not the same. I was in some sort of alternate dream-world. I felt they were all in on some secret, and they were laughing and asking me if I was ready to know this thing. I was terrified, I suddenly felt that my life was some sort of grand facade, but I suddenly recalled that in the Castaneda books you are told to laugh in the face of your fear, and so I tried to do this. Then suddenly I started floating or spinning in the room uncontrollably, like I was a ball being passed around from person to person.

Then as suddenly as it occurred it was gone. I went over to my friend Lacey who was sitting on the couch and put my head on her shoulder. I was pretty shaken up.

The moral of the story is: with psychedelics context is a BIG deal. Your experience at some silly party with strangers is going to be very very different from your experience with close friends out in a natural setting. I think you can learn something from either experience, but the learning process will be much more pleasant in the latter situation.

I remember you telling this story. I will definitely take it at home in a safe environment. I don't know how it will affect me since I won't be smoking it like everybody else. I understand you can chew it though. The reason I won't smoke it is because when I quit smoking cigarettes in 2003 I vowed never to smoke anything again.

Chewing it was actually the traditional method by the mazatecs. It is supposed to be a much gentler trip, but longer lasting.

Yes, it was probably mild. The kind I took is considered probably the weakest extract and the bowls weren't entirely full. I also probably could have held the smoke in longer. I'm glad I didn't, however. If my experience was mild, I do not want to experience a heavy dose. I was already entirely disconnected from reality with only that tiny bit.

I've always known that ordinary experience is mediated through a number of faculties (time, space, senses), but this experience has helped me to internalize more concretely what that means. That is, our perception of reality appears to depend largely on the chemicals in our brain. Whether Serotonin, DMT, or Salvinorin A, we don't see reality as it actually exists. We see reality as it appears to exists after our sensory organs and bio-chemicals filter perceptual input.

I have a little spare time today so I'm gonna post another story from the ayahuasca ceremonies.

After the 4th ceremony, we were given an additional drink. This one didn't taste nearly as bad as the ayahuasca, which tastes worse than anything you've ever drank. I can just think about it and get on the verge of throwing up. Anyway, this new drink was supposed to teach us in our dreams. That night after the dream-drink was the only night during the entire trip that I had a dream that felt like it had any significance. This could be a case of the placebo effect, but nevertheless I had a dream that had a great impact upon me. Here it is, copied from my notes:

Oct 9 -

I dreamed of a palace that was floating in the ocean, with sails attached above it. There was a big set of stairs coming down from the palace, and the rulers of this palace were standing on the steps stabbing these men with swords. At the same time they were saying how it was wrong to kill, they were speaking all these hypocritical commandments.

Then the main ruler came out, he had a black beard and carried a curvy arabian-type sword (illustration here). He was threatening to kill one of the others for losing his temper, but he was just as much a tyrant as the others.

There was this small rebellious group who were trying to infiltrate the palace, and their leader was a man with a blond beard. All the men who served under the leader of the palace had a black beard. One of these men was standing at the edge of the palace looking out over the ocean, calling the blond man a coward, then I saw that the blond man was hiding up in the sails above him. He was making plans to get inside the palace, but it would be difficult because alot of the roof was not solid, it was made of yellow and white tent fabric.

***

Anyway, this dream had much relevance to my life at that time, but apart from that it was also a really vivid and fantastical dream.

I've read quite a bit about DMT and it's effects, mostly on Cliff Pickovers Reality Carnival website. I would be very interested to speak with a professional researcher who might be looking for volunteer test subjects(all Cheech and Chong jokes aside).
From what I have read, a fairly high percentage of people who take DMT have had a kind of religious experience, and I would love to have one. I have tried all sorts of things to induce any sort of spiritual experience in the trance and meditation department, but have stopped short of taking any form of drugs other than alcohol (Bourbon, of course), (although I did smoke some pot in high school about 25 years ago, but I wasn't impressed. All I did was fall asleep.)....and I have never came close.

I've always wanted to try DMT or Ayhuasca. If you provide the hook-up I'll do the buying. I'm not some street guy who wants to get a cheap hi, I really do want to get enlightened and see a bit further.
