I know I'm probably opening myself up to one hell of a can of "whup ass" here on this forum, but I'm going to give it a try.

To begin with, you might call me a "Greer type" of guy. I started getting back into the UFO/ET scene after a self-imposed hiatus of many years, oh, about 10 years ago. This thing has been with me ever since I was a kid. First, let me say, I love the smart-ass the 2 dudes-in-charge continually rant and rave on their podcasts. This is my first post here, so please don't be too cruel.

I looked around the net and found all manner of UFO/ET conspiracy theories, junk science, whacked out stories, etc. etc.

One area of relative sanity for me was the efforts of Dr. Steven Greer and his teams. Basically, I will say what got my attention was his overall spiritual approach to the topic, not only addressing how to explicitly contact ET, not just watch astral light, or just nuts and bolts craft in the sky, but also trying to get government/corporate insiders to "disclose" what they know. And, to boot, there has been an effort from within his group to try to research and address the question of alternative/free energy that is an assumed fallout from back-engineered ET craft, etc.

I've heard the repeated name-calling, back-stabbing and all type of accusation thrown against this guy, but, alas, my critical friends here at the Paracast, for me, he and his teams are the real deal.

I appreciated the "interview" you guys had with Dr. Greer not too long ago. But, for my money, it turned into a bitter vitriloic, especially at the end. I know you guys, especially Dave, have said you've had "way-out" experiences that have really shaken you up over the years. I think you would find a sympatheic ear from Dr. Greer, IMHO.

As another example, some years ago I heard Linda Howe on a Whitley podcast, and I could hear the exasperation in her voice as yet another Don Quijote quest for a "final" answer to the UFO/ET enigma was on its way down in flames. Yet I've heard her suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortunes as well from all kinds of critics, some thoughtful, some not, some kind, others not.

What I'm getting to is to open up a dialogue between various disparate groups of UFOlogists, whether investigative journalists, everyday podcasters who've become the new free press on the ET/UFO issue, or down-in-the trenches investigators who come up more often with egg on their face than with laurels to adorn their heads.

Imagine a time in the very near future when ET is starting to make his move, whether he is going to enforce his New World Order with his human minions ever at the ready (Bad Aliens!! -- Boo!! Hiss!! ), or whether he is coming down in ships of light to help mankind renew a spiritual civilization upon the earth once more (Good Aliens!! -- Yay!!). We're all going to be in this together -- the Greers, the Striebers, the Howes, the Biednys, the Dolans, the Andrews, yes even the Boylans, and the Meiers, and the Horns, and, oh yes, the rest of the 7 BILLION of us mortal beings living on the planet.

I would suggest to my UFOlogical opponents, not really opponents, to then keep your powder dry and save the last bullet for yourself. If it is ET's plan to corkscrew humanity into a New World Order not of our own making, then Dave, Gene, I'll be down there in the trenches, pointing the guns at the enemy ET.

We share a whole hell of a lot more than what divides us. Meanwhile can't we be just friends.

Let's try this for this thread. Without just using name calling, I sincerely would ask the posters to say whatever irks or bothers them about Dr. Greer and his efforts, to please list that, and be specific as all get out, and what you would ask him to respond to

At the same time, if you see ANY positive traits or results from his efforts that you could likewise list, please do so. Thank you!!

Anyway, however this thing rolls out, we are one humanity, and we should always remember that.

Andrew

This is a joke right? Funny stuff. Good one. Had me going for a minute there. :)

Not really sure of any pros to Greer anymore. His idea of "disclosure" was a good idea, but it's been put to a bad, bad practice.

Cons: Not sure, I'm not paying any money to go visit with him while he summons lights from the sky-and then makes me sign a non-disclosure agreement. (This from the man that wants the gov't to disclose all their stuff.)

Needless to say Greer isn't very popular on these forums, and I rarely pay attention to a word he says.

Greer has numerous problems with the chief one being that he is a liar. As for the latest example I can think of is that he said he would disclose video and image evidence of contacting aliens, undenaible proof. He said this proof was to come out in the fall of 2008 I believe. Guess what ... nothing.

Do you think it is a bit ironic that the very thing he pushes for (disclosure), he , himself will not do. He never discloses any of his "outings" and in fact he writes into the contract (as if you needed a contract to go out in the woods to vector in alien ships) that you cannot disclose anything that happens. That and it costs $1000 plus you need to buy and read all of Greers books. For that $1000 you get a CD with some meditation stuff on it.

He apparently has privy to free energy which is also not disclosed. He can't name one person involved in this even though he has some scientists working on it. What he needs is money. It's always money and it's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. He never reveals a damn thing. He just writes books, lectures, and goes on these high priced ET trips.

Nothing revealing ever happens. He did assemble quite a group at the National Press Club, but it was a motley group consisting of some credible people and mostly ET wackos. He didn't do any background or story checking at all. None. Throwing everything against the wall is simply the wrong approach to hoping people take this subject seriously.

I have to stop. There is so much more, but if you feel Greer has some answers then by all means, go ahead. I'm sure someone else will aggresively chime in, but it boils down to this: Greer doesn't disclose any revealing information about aliens or free energy which he says he has. He has had this damning evidence for decades, but he never lets it surface. And this is most likely because he is a pathological liar.

Please do a search on Greer here. There are many threads devoted to discussing his, uh, research. Also take a look on http://www.ufowatchdog.com as there is a listing for him there under the Hall of Shame. That would be a good first step for you.

I totally agree with our being one humanity Andrew and like yourself if it came to it I too would be there in the trenches, but somehow I dont believe the Greers or Horns of this world would be. It seems pretty damn obvious to me that guys like that have only one thing in mind and that's money.

At first when I started using the internet I explored lots of weird and wonderful things
that interested me and I remember well the time when I discovered Dr Greers videos of that Press club event.

Must admit I was very impressed and for a long time I believed all that I heard. Since that time I have been busy seeking out lots more about the UFO enigma and those associated with it, and know now how wrong I was and how lucky I've been to have found a real oasis of rational sceptical thinking in this show. Every time Greer's been on I have thought the questions asked were always perfectly reasonable yet his answers always end up like those of a politician ie confusing, evasive, ill informed and what's that word? Filibustering I think.

He's on the make, it's not honest, it wastes time, it confuses everything and why the hell should anyone here or anywhere else for that matter cut these guys any slack?

Sorry if I sound a little heated Andrew but lists of pro's and cons wont change a thing.

If it walks like a duck.......

Mark

Andrew --

I'm afraid I have to chime in with everyone else here. He's another parasite exploiting the UFO gullible ... of which there are too damned many. If it weren't for them, there wouldn't be people like Greer. Without the UFO "market," he'd have to become an out and out New Age charlatan, or get an honest job.

Greer is at the event horizon of the black hole that the "disclosure movement" has become. He's kind of like the St. Peter of that particular set of gates. It's a tough job, but nobody has to do it.

If there was Pro's to Greer there would no problem. There is no Pro's in any anything he does, maybe he is a good to his family, friends, is a good all round citizen, but to the topic we discuss here, he's does it a disservice.

If you are going to be a public figure for a serious topic and least have evidence or something concrete to show before you claim it.Free energy, there is nothing for free in these world we live in, you pay eventually.

Ok , here's my 2 cents-worth on what I have come to learn and love ? about one DOCTOR Steven Greer ( Emergency room doctor, body-builder and father of very clever children )

1. I actually don't mind the guy, he comes across as a bit of a know-it-all but his one saving grace for me was him rallying together the witnesses for the famous 2001 Press Conference which was a feat of genius.
I've followed him for years and he is an articulate and excellent public speaker.

However ... He sure likes tootin' his own horn !!!! see below ...

2. He is a body-builder, and will let you know of this at every given opportunity ( He recently made a point of bringing this up at this years Barcelona conference when he took off his jacket , assuming people were in fucking awe at his physique ) You can find this on Youtube.
3.He is a proud Grandfather, because that's quite an achievement ya know. He also lets us know this on a recent lecture.
4.One of his ( many ) daughters got her PHD from a VERY prestigous university. He also let everybody know this at a recent lecture. Again, he is proud, so ok, I'll let him have that one.
5.This is the one we get to hear about the most, and on the last Paracast interview he did, I actually laughed out loud, because I lost count of just how many times he mentioned it , in case we had forgotten.
He was an emergency room doctor !!!!!!!! Did you hear me !! If not, don't worry, because he'll tell you again on the next tour, lecture, interview dvd or book.
6.He lost me with all the spiritual and channeling crap :(
7.Watch his recent Project Camelot interview, where the female interviewer Kerry Cassidy rips him a new one over allegations that all Et's are friendly.

Let's see...

  • Delusions of grandeur
  • Hallucinations (or perhaps lies)
  • Lack of associating consequence to actions
  • Paranoia
  • Disorganized speech and thought process
  • A disassociation from reality

See where I'm going here? ;)

Pro: He hasn't opted for breast implants yet.

Con: Lack of breasts makes me lose interest.

Pro: Personality disorders are great tools to get attention.

Con: Steroids are not treatment for personality disorders.

Pro: He makes me feel real good like bout ma self.

Con: Lack of breasts makes me lose interest.

I'm a little scared that you want him to get breast implants

PS. He's a Doctor and a Bodybuilder you know. Just incase you weren't aware.

OK - I'm gonna fess up. I think that the guy is quite sinister. He is all about influence, influence, influence. Influence over people in the field, influence over his credulous followers, influence over the media, influence over the gubberment, the UN, etc. That with his own penchant for secrecy regarding his own actions, makes him untrustworthy in my opinion. He is all about effect - doesn't matter if what he says is true or not - what matters is the effect his utterances have, and how it relates to his ability to influence people. He is a propagandist.
