My brother bought our grandparents' house and kept the old phone number, and occasionally he'd get sales calls and whatnot for our grandfather (died 1969). My brother would always say "Well, he's been dead for 30 years, but I'll give him the message." They didn't call back.
This does remind me that my grandfather had a copy of "The Hollow Earth" and there were always Fate magazines lying around the house -- not sure if they belonged to him though. He angered my grandmother because he'd invite Jehovah's Witnesses etc. into the house and argue with them. Although like most people of his time he never went to college he apparently enjoyed discussing religion and related topics. I wish I'd had the chance to know him better...
