Gary Heseltine

Free episodes:

Do you understand me better than Gary?
About the same, actually. But that's not your fault or his, it's only my not being used to it. Your accent is already more familiar, so I don't have to go back and re-listen.

And I'm not complaining. I'm a language enthusiast and I love to learn about dialects and stuff. I especially liked the way he says "puzzled". :)
to be frank outside Gary's recounting of the adamski case I didn't find this episode to be especially compelling.
Well, maybe he could have talked more about the cases in his database. That would surely be a project for a future episode. But apart from that, I found his own sighting absolutely fascinating (I'm quite convinced that the power failure was related to the object and that it wasn't just a misinterpretation of something explainable) and what he said about the reactions of the police officers when they told him about theirs. I have an uncle who is a police officer and it's absolutely impossible to talk to him about UFOs and if he's ever had to investigate anything unusual. But I guess they do have quite some stories when talking among themselves.

have you mentioned Mr. Hazeltine to your uncle? is there any reason to think your uncle may have investigated any unsolved apparent crime or disappearances that he may not want to discuss outside his fellow officers?

Gary talked about the British 'UFO Magazine'.Now that was an excellent glossy mag. What a great loss when the publication was stopped because Graham Birdsall died

Too bad my question about cropcircles was not chosen...

No to both questions. Maybe I should tell him, but it's difficult talking to him with no one else around. I don't think he has had to investigate any "strange" cases or disappearances himself (this is a very quiet and rural area), but I guess they'll have the occasional "UFO" caller, and maybe it's not always a misinterpretation or a joker.

I'd welcome a discussion about that subject, but get the feeling it is heavily frowned upon on the forums generally speaking. I suppose because, if it isn't all "art" or "farmers in the dark", then you gotta be prepared to speculate on some high strangeness... My only beef is, I made the mistake of talking about crop circles on here early on. It didn't go very well. :( ...but there have been occasions since on the paracast, when a much liked guest brings it up in conversation and it goes unchallenged. I'm sorry I wasn't taking notes on which particular episodes, but it happened fairly recently as I recall.

" I'm a language enthusiast and I love to learn about dialects"

That was from Polterwurst I think; well said, I think along the same lines, I'd like to be a polyglot one day!

As for Heseltine, you should've got him to talk more...only joking, for a Yorkshireman he was most impressive. This was the first time I've really heard of him as my research recently has been almost zero, but he seems more than plausible and he'll go on the good list
