CNN Headline News just did a blip about it.

Found the blip here: http://www.disclose.tv/viewvideo/2108/CNN__Pilots_and_officals_call_for_UFO_disclosure/

They tried awful hard to put a smiley face on the whole thing, and was that the X-Files theme I heard in the background?

Some of what this "sceptic" said was simply outrageous. Pilots (military and civilian) are some of the worst and least qualified people for observing UFOs? Who else would be better qualified??? Unbelievable.
Mind you, one could hear the fear in his trembling voice. Rather than trying to establish what the truth is, he desperately defended his limited view of the world. If he were to accept that UFOs are real, his entire conception of reality would crumble.

Yeah, this guy's a major asshole. At least Shermer is friendly. In his weaker moments (or perhaps honest is a better word), Shermer will admit that the phenomenon is real but not necessarily extraterrestrial.

Evidently, Greer felt compelled to put his two cents in with an open letter to Symington and Fox.

Dr. Greer, if you want disclosure, then invite the press to one of your flashlight UFO slumber parties.

That letter is hilarious! He obviously feels so left out that he just had to equate the Disclosure Project with this, and best yet tell how they're doing it all wrong! LOL

I agree with you. I want to see the study that shows pilots make bad aerial observers. These guys say that they want documented proof of everything, but then make statements like this as if it is an absolute certainty. Show me an accredited study that shows pilots are bad observers. I don’t buy it.

I keep going back to an argument that Stanton Friedman uses from time to time. I'm paraphrasing but basically it is that while eyewitness testimony may pass for proof in court, as far as UFOs go, it isn't worth sh!t.

Now if you follow McGaha's argument at face value, then what we should be investigating is not UFOs, but why there are so many people in the commercial and military aviation fields that have serious deficiencies with their visual perception.

Australian ABC radio (our national broadcaster) Starstuff program has a 5 minute segment on the topic as their lead story. Starstuff is a popular science program that covers astronomy and space stories, and is mainstream science - no mention of pseudo science here. That makes the story even more remarkable - I guess it just ranks as newsworthy starstuff.

http://www.abc.net.au/newsradio/txt/s2095138.htm

Starstuff is a great podcast to listen to if you took the wrong career and secretly wish you were an astronomer or astronaut! (The Jodcast from Britain is pretty interesting too).
