Health Care

Yep, VA health care is pretty much shit. You're much better off going to a private doc. But not all VA hospitals are bad, I've heard there were some good ones too. The hardest part is that a lot of servicemen can't even get any healthcare assistance that they were promised before enlisting and they literally have to fight for it. What a shame. I can't imagine coming back from Iraq with no limbs or other healthcare problems and not even be able to go see a doctor because of some stupid government bureaucracy.

As far as putting money into the military...well, it's a necessary evil. There is a lot of bad folks out there who want to kill you and we need the best of the military to protect us. You may not agree with the wars being waged right now, but any sovergn nation needs to have a strong military in order to protect itself and it's interests. I just wish our soldiers were treated better.

I was thinking how iroinic it is that the people who complain and bitch about goverment being in charge of health care. Have nothing to say about the goverments ability to kill other people in far off lands very, very, effeciantly.
When it comes to us all putting money into that little programme, dead silence.....
We all have to contribute to the society in our own ways for the common good. Be it the schools,police,firemen, roads, public transport, military, the list goes on. Why not health care?
My arguement would be, this goverment and previous administrations seem to be able to find the time and money to fight wars all over this planet for many reasons and for many years.
I bet if they really had too, they could do a good job of reforming health care.
But then again, when those soldiers come back from those vital battles around the globe, they get shit health care and treated like lepers.
If they lose that is...

Yes, & you folks bailed us out last winter, when that icestorm knocked out power to over 170,000 CMP & Bangor Hydro customers in Maine . . . I have a generator, & power was restored after about 14 hours, but some people were more than week without heat or lights . . . I know that everyone was thrilled to see those crews & trucks that came down from Canada to help out . . . In fact, a food pantry lost all of its perishables due to the outage in one town, & the Canadian crews all chipped in to replace the lost food, & to make Christmas possible for the poor who would have had to gone without . . . !

And Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity will probably go nuts. Wait a minute -- they are nuts! Oh well.

Limbaugh is a drugged out ego-maniac, Hannity is a partisan hack, and Beck IMO works for intelligence to make himself look like a fool because he talks about far deeper issues then the other two, but is a gatekeeper who makes the issue he talks about looks foolish.

I think it's valid to say the the Federal Government is bloated, inept, and out of control. Why on earth would I trust them to not act in the same manner with our health care? That SHOULD be the issue, not anything else.

I agree they should be treated a LOT better. The last thing they shouild have to worry about is when i get home, am i going to be taken care of?

& it's appreciated . . . Also, after our state got squared away, crews from Maine, & many of the crews from Canada, then headed down to New Hampshire to help them out there, because they were worse off than we were - they had 300,000 customers without power . . . ! It makes me think of Katrina - after that hurricane destroyed so much of New Orleans . . . I bet a lot of people died needlessly there because of the bumbling, fumbling fiasco of the Federal "Response" . . . I want everyone to have healthcare in the US, but I can't blame people for being wary of the Federal Government administering things, especially in light of how they "rescued" New Orleans after Katrina . . .

I don't doubt it all. There are tons of declassified cases of media people who were paid to say things by the intelligence/military. Operation Mockingbird, Operation Chaos, ect. Beck fits the MO exactly for that. Not saying it's the case for sure, but my guess.

That maybe true, but you have the choice to go private if you want.
I believe the people that need and want health care would settle for something instead of buggerall.
My buddy a few years ago drove a biscuit joiner into his hand (sharp woodworking tool, ouch!!) when he went to the hospital he was asked if he had insurance. "No" he said. The next question from the Dr, was can you afford the cost of the anesthetic when i sew you up?
He couldn't at the time. You say inept? You say Bloated and out of control? Maybe. I think my buddy would love the choice for himself.
