Human Hybrids

Free episodes:

Ok mike, what's the point? Because we can GE organisms we should be doing so to the limit of our capabilities? The things you are describing are no doubt possible right now if not in the near future they will be. What would you have us agree with, genetically engineer everything to make it the most efficient form for us to manipulate or utilize?

I can see your point that morals are pretty much indefinable because they are regional or religious based so really exist in no capacity to gauge the work of science.

What about this: Some might argue that the ability of one to evolve is lessened when one manipulates the world around them. By forcing the world to change, one cannot grow and change one’s self. I make no claims to know the purpose for our existence, but it would reason that exploiting the universe is not one of those. Then again maybe that is our sole purpose (but that does not feel right).

i guess my point is to create an awareness of the potentials and gauge your response, which i thank you for providing.
how many of you knew stalin tried to create ape soldiers, or that we are now creating human/sheep hybrids already ?

the thread was inspired by an article (still trying to find) about research in hybrids as astronaughts, scientists invloved looked at organisisms that hibernate and the potential to use these genes to create a better bio form for long space flight than the chimp.
bears were looked at, but in the end the most promising genes come from the tick (insectoid genes) which can remain in a state of bio suspension for 40 years until a whiff of carbon wakes it.

when i think of what such a hybrid might look like, i cant help thinking of the greys
