Icecap photo shows 'mother nature in tears'

Free episodes:

jose did you have something to contribute? or did you just want to troll?

...again, the pot calling the kettle black.

Speaking of something to contribute, what exactly does anything you've posted have to do with a cool image of nature? I just don't see the connection.

If people would read the article that the pic is from then maybe you wouldn't have to ask why comments about GW are being made?

I mean, I'm just sayin'.

It's OK though, the right has it's goofy shit that they fall for with "The War on Terror" and left has their goofy shit that they fall for with the "Global Warming/Climate Change" fearmongering. Everyone likes being lied to, as long as it fits against what the "other people" of the poltical party they are against. Partisan football, to me it's mental masterbation.

Wait, wait, wait...we are still talking about this cool photograph right? Is there any reason why posts like this need to be populated with political bullshit all the time? There's just no need.

True, nice photograph.

it was a Yes or a No answer. lol... so i take it you DO believe in the hockey stick hoax... you might want to read up on it. it is not based on good science.

True, nice photograph.

it is more environmental than political. i forgot, thread drift NEVER happens here. so sorry.

and yes i already commented on how very cool the photo is.

True, nice photograph.

Did you read the first couple paragraphs in the article, Jose? That is why it came up, the article was about GW and a poltical position. I didn't write the damn thing, I'm just telling you what it said.

*shrugs shoulders*

The striking image of the Austfonna ice cap, located on Nordaustlandet in the Svalbard archipelago, would seem certain to be heavily used by environmentalists protesting against climate change.

Rising sea levels caused by melting ice caps are one of the most worrying effects of global warming and experts warn swathes of low-lying countries will be left under water.

Why are people asking WHY someone would bring up a "political point" when the article says that? You guys who are complaining, did you even read the article?

Actually yes I did read it and there's no reason to populate screen real estate with political bullshit.

The segment you presented is hardly political in nature. Someone simply decided to read between lines that simply do not exist.

I think it's ridiculously hypocritical that someone lays claims to bad science whilst supporting the notion of bullshit like chemtrails.

Pixelsmith, there's no problem with topics drifting but you seem to fucking cause a proverbial polar shift with your bullshit.

Man, seriously, fuck this shit. I'm just adding to the frustration.

Look. The article mentions GW once. It never says ANYTHING about CO2 or Humans causing it. It never says anything about a cause. The article is about glacier observations. That's basically it. And it shows a really interesting photo. Plays with your mind and makes you wonder why it is that we pick out faces and things like this in seemingly random order. Cool.

Then Pixlesmith gets on his soapbox and declares anyone that believes CO2 or humans are causing global warming are complete idiots. How does this connect again?? This is the stuff I'm tired of. I'm not telling anyone what to post, but I thought that comment was just , well, .. not needed or even relevant.

Seemed to be made for one reason: to start the same argument over again.

What would be the reason to even mention GW if it was not the poltical context of it being "man-made?" It's a political statement, made by the author of the article.

I wish the article just said, "look at this cool pic" and left it at that. We wouldn't be having this conversation.

I understand what you are saying if it was just a random thread about a random thing that nothing to do with any political issue. My point is that was not the case based on the article.

Meh, I blame the Reptilians for all of this. lol :D

That is totally in the eye of the beholder, my good friend, the Capn'
I thought it was hauntingly beautiful myself, but it's completely subjective.

I suppose. I just think there are for more impressive natural faces in existence than this. The average partly cloudy day yields better.

errr, sorry, but I think you guys are being way too hard on pixel. He may be overstating it, but the fact is that the scientific community does not agree on the what is the cause of global warming.

I would like to know the truth so I can be sure too, but when two equally credible people have opposing opinions it becomes a little hard to settle on one yourself.

No it's not. One viewpoint is proactive and cautious, the other is laisse-faire and reactive. If the former wins out but is wrong, we're still fine. If the latter wins out but is wrong, we're fucked. That's your choice, it's not a hard one to make.

The irony of this issue politically is that it causes "conservatives" to act liberally but causes "liberals" to think conservatively.

And we wonder why there's no open contact with aliens...

mother nature is fine. she has endured far, FAR worse than humans or the current climate trends.

I don't think anybody is worried about mother nature getting over this, they are worried about living on a coastline and the effect that the current warming trend is going to have on food production.

There is an old saying, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. So whether or not we are the cause of global warming, if we sit back and do nothing, we might as well be.

Global warming is bigger than he's right and he's wrong, regardless of opinions on that matter, the consequences of it remain the same. We need to contribute to make the carbon footprint of our race smaller. If we don't, were going to get an answer to how the population of Britain might drop from 60 million to 20 million.

As cute as you girls are when you fight, denying the fact that the globe is getting warmer (whether it is trend or human impact), is just plain obtuse.
