I have always been interested in the subject of UFO’s its one of those things that just grabs you….Recently I began searching the internet for articles, news stories, clips, radio programs, etc, etc, and what I have found is the more and more I was presented with this “evidence” if you want to call it that, I started to doubt the existence of UFO’s… Some of the stories, shows, etc, etc that you see on TV just almost always have a commercial tie built in. I am a huge fan of the Paracast, I love this show, I mean common these guys give us 2hrs of non stop action, that’s more than enough time to fully explain the UFO phenomenon, but again it just starts to hit you, If UFO’s really do exist why don’t they just land on the white house lawn, why don’t they disable our space satieties, why don’t they distort the air around airplanes that are in flight? ….. I am fully convinced that there is life beyond this planet that you cannot deny, but if you stop and think about what is being presented to you by all these folks out there, ohhh I saw a flying sauh-sah or UFO, blah, blah, blah, If you are a somewhat level headed individual and can put 2 and 2 together you too will soon find yourself asking this….

Any civilization that is capable of traveling through space millions of light years, traversing meteors, space junk, black holes, etc, etc to then come all the way to earth just to click the invisible button… If you have the technology and are capable of traveling through space at light speeds, why would Aliens or UFO's just zip on by as mere blimps on radars? All i am saying is that the evidence that is being presented to us does not hold up well to our every day reality.

I know my thoughts on here are a bit scattered, I apologize im still at work so I had to make this fast….. if there is anything that you think that I should look up on the web please reply back and let me know, I would really like to hear what others think….

Nope -- there's no more info out there than what you've already summarized in your insightful first post. You are correct that UFOs do not exist, and that there is no convicing evidence.

Troll alert???

Why do so many people assume 'UFO' and 'alien space ship' are interchangeable? All a UFO is, is an unidentified object seen in the air. So UFOs most certainly exist. Their existence is not in dispute, just their identity and origin.

Is this the revenge of Knell? :D

What's your name, What brings you here, exactly? It sounds like you originally were very curious to know more about UFO's and then have concluded (per your post) that you think they are STILL possible (UFO's and Alien's, I mean). Yet that they haven't/wouldn't come and bother with the likes of us. Correct?

So. That being said:

Hello all My name is Network Cable Unplugged but you can all call me Net. (who wants to type that long name anyway)...

Found out about the paracast via i-tunes.... I absolutely love it! when i first heard the first show and saw that it was 2hrs long i could not wait, especially when they had people on there like Steven Greer, James Fox, etc, etc it was nice to see the variety of shows one could stab at, especially since i found out about the paracast back in September 08, I think i spent about 2 or 3 days just listening to shows non stop just trying to catch up....

Ok reason for posting, well you guessed it, I have spent have tons and tons of hours of listening to the show, searching the Net for more evidence etc etc, and the only thing that really stands out for me is, you want me to believe you saw what now?....
I know the difference between UFO's and Aliens, and yes i do believe there is life outside of this planet, what i don't believe is that there is an intelligent being, race, aliens whatever you want to call them, zig-zagging through our skies, yes the are UFO's Un-Identified Flying Objects out there, but not the little green men ones you think... Again this is just my opinion obviously we are all welcome to form and believe whatever we want.

Finally to answer your last question Bixyboo, I still do think that Aliens are out there but just not the kind that we see on TV, little green men, Roswell or the Grey's.... What i think is out there is Life... Organic life on some habitable planet, they could be similar to us or they could be completely different? ..... One thing i got from watching the TV show To The Edge Of The Universe was how vast and big space is, even with worm holes it would take years to travel back and forth between galaxies??? I do appreciate you taking the time out to welcome the new guy on the block... Again i love the show and i will continue to listen regardless of the Brutal Attack i just went under!...... :)

So...you think there ARE intelligent 'other races' that are alive, yet not....'beings' so to speak, then?

Or do you think that there are ALSO 'beings' but that they just don't visit us/etc.?

I think you mean the first.

We all have our opinions.

I feel that there are waaaayyy tooooo many planets in this universe and that there ARE/HAVE BEEN populated with actual sentient 'beings' that have Craft and have/do visit other planets/us, etc....(my opinion).

I also have a friend who thinks that there are no such things as 'little green or grey men' either.
She thinks that the 'Aliens' are humans (ourselves) from either the future or perhaps humans who are living on another planet.

Regardless: It's fascinating to discuss all theories and try to find out what's what....*shrug*

Welcome to our forums.

We can all agree that there is lots of life in this Universe. The problem is that we don't have a complete idea of what "Universe" is... there's the stuff we see with our eyes and instrumentation, and then there's everything else. It's my opinion that we humans don't know anywhere near as much as our egos would like. We're not as high up on the evolutionary ladder as we need to be, or we're right where we're supposed to be, but no one really knows. And that's the sad state of affairs. Meanwhile, it doesn't mean we stop trying, and having conversations about these topics is key. In my many hours of pondering the issues, combined with my own personal experiences, I've personally come to know that there are genuine UFO and paranormal encounters – and bogus ones. The bullshit outweighs the truth – welcome to Earth – but there is something real going on. I no longer have to ask the question, it's onto the details.

These things are being witnessed by people, so in the end, people are all you've got. Photos, video, there's some good stuff and lots of false hits and faked garbage. Testimonies are really the most compelling material, and as you'd expect, there's junk, gold and everything in between. Apply some logic, intelligence, integrity and honesty, and you can cut through the crap and find the signal.

I'm glad you enjoy the show.

Ufos are a fact, what they are is what is debatable. Even if you feel certain one way or another, you could be wrong. Absolute statements aren't your friend. Except for the last statement I made:)

It’s a big Universe out there, but one thing I am certain about is that there is life somewhere on another habital planet, space is just too vast and to big to only support us, we humans are part of the chain of things that can happen and form in this universe. One topic that is real close to me that I really love to believe in is The Singularity…. Could it be that we reached this point where man has created smarter than human intelligence and now we are all submerged in a vat running in this simulation?

Do you all think that we could be in a Simulation?
What happens if you get in a space ship and venture out past Neptune, what happens to your Soul, if reincarnation does exist then how does this sequence of events find its way back to Earth to bring you back, (we could never tell obviously) but if we could this would be the smoking gun for the Simulation theory……
 
Exactly. To say that "people dont see things in the sky that they cant identify" is just silly.

But whether these unidentifiable objects are a space craft from Zeta Riticuli is another matter all together.

You are correct that there is a lack of compelling evidence for most of the claims that are made.
But I as many others would argue that there's evidence for something, or in my opinion a lot of different somethings (and bundling them all together is one of the things that makes the issue hard to resolve).
And try to keep an open mind (which is not the same as accepting unquestioningly anything anyone says) on the subject of what it would be reasonable for people to do when they get here, or where/when they might be from: the truth is that our guesses about such things would only carry weight if we were being visited by well, us. If nonhuman intelligences (other than elephants) are interacting with us, their motivations and ideas of reasonable behaviour will be obscured by the fact that we know absolutely nothing about them and can't reliably extrapolate from ourselves.

Even with our own species we're not that good at making reliable inferences about cultures who haven't left lots of written records: that's why museums are full of things (to which I ascribe no paranormal properties or purpose) that get labelled "cult objects": it's anthropologist/archaeologist-speak for "thingamyjig".

Well, I consider my sightings Undetermined Flying (sometimes falling, or floating perhaps) objects. Don't know what they were. Coulda been alien. Maybe not. But whether or not some people are being truthful and reporting things that aren't hallucinations, that don't have a commonly excepted explanation? Yup, having ufo sightings help with being comfortable with that conclusion.

Oh, Haven't seen you post in a few days Capn. Hope you had a great holiday.
