Is Bill Birnes an Idiot?

Really... you're gonna put Birnes on the same level as Peckman? As Greer? As Horn? Please. Bill maybe somewhat enthusiastic about the topic but at least he has the temerity to point out when something is unknown or merely theoretical. And he is, after all, a businessman. He's not trying to be sneaky about it like certain other shills...

The people who make these absolute pronouncements about the UFO enigma, those are the people doing real damage to the field.

Capn as usual expressed similar views as I hold. I don't see Birnes as a hero, nor a major villain. I wouldn't place him with Greer, Pecker, or Horn. But, knowing this field, he may grow into those shoes in time. Caution with Birnes is certainly reasonable. But that goes for everyone. Hope I sound more practical than paranoid.

The Philadelphia Experiment,
When Bill talks about degaussing he was half right. Interviews with men on the ship verify that. HOWEVER, the ship didn't overheat and no one was killed. The ship was in the Yard with hundreds of people around. Its all folklore, its just a story.

Idiot is not a word I would use about Bill Birnes.

You have to be pretty smart to keep working in a field full of other jackals who are all after the same thing, Money.

I have yet to see anyone in this field with a TV show, books, magazines who do any of it for free, or to get to the truth.

What floors me, is the audacity that some of these people have to pretend that they, and only they are the true gatekeepers to the unknown truths.

I've been looking up at the sky since I was 3 years old. I've seen things that I cannot explain, and know exactly the same things as Bill Birnes, and every other so called expert in this field. Nothing.

Nobody knows the truth about this in this field. That's why it's such a great place to make a buck. You just have to be as credible, or more credible than the guy next to you, and come up with something even more imaginative.

I wouldn't say great, unless you can name some millionaires that made their money from this.

A very depressing state of affairs, and sadly, you just described the perfect recipe for what has become known as "muddying the waters". I think that would be the equation, and the result is disingenuous agendas and fabrications all in the name of money and fame. The field seems to generally attract two types of people; those wanting to use it as a platform for gain, and those who are genuinely curious. Well, three types of people I suppose. You can't forget about the cashews.

But, I also agree with you that I wouldn't label Bill an "idiot" either. Regardless of my disagreements with his work and beliefs, he's not the kind of guy I would refer to in a condescending way. He's still bringing the subject to a somewhat mainstream audience, so that has to count for something.

after watching the latest ufo hunter show... i would say everyone one the team is an idiot. they go out in the middle of a field and look at a sink hole complete with churning water and wonder if it is an impact crater... i am no doctor or scientist but even i could tell it was no impact crater. then they get a kid who claims he saw a tower shaped object with lights on each corner with a tiled surface, and to prove it he has video of it. then they are amazed at his video of a single multi colored light and compare it to a car's headlights, which they do not notice also display multi colored lights on video.

even more bizarre is no one notices that birnes looks like a small grey.

Yep. Anyone concerned about the quality of the second series can rest easy, it's still shit.

He's always reminded me of Jim Bowen (probably only a name UK readers will recognise). Interestingly, they both have links to things beginning with "BULL...."

Bill is far from an idiot, it just he has cuckoo clock for a brain? He is over the top on many issues, he needs to tune down a little, less volume. He has a good engine, but it puts far too much petrol into it,
Dont get me started with engines, Corso son is magical according to Bill, he was almost giveing the impression in the interview that somehow since he was a relative of Corso, that somehow the son was guided by something? did anyone else notice? I found it funny, but that is serious problem all jokes aside, and i think you undertand what i am saying?

Having just disparaged UFO Hunters I feel obliged to say that the second episode of this second series is actually pretty good (if only they were all like this!)

I am a first time poster.

Bill Birnes is totally paranoid. He sees connections and conspiracies everywhere. He reminded me of the title character in A Beautiful Mind but I don't think he's that smart. He is a one helluva name dropper, however.

I watched the "Real Roswell" episode of UFO Hunters the other night, and it is the last fucking thing I will ever watch by Birnes and crew.

I've seen some idiocy, but this episode bothered me more than anything, because I as a lowly artist know more about plastic and rubber than they do.

Not to mention they totally re-wrote the history of the material recovered at Roswell, by omitting two incredibly important things. They couldn't cut it, or burn it with a torch.

For them to have an eyewitness, and of course Jesse Marcel Jr. doing the same thing, proved what? That they both liked Acetate over metal.

I know for a fact, A FACT that there was another documentary for THE HISTORY CHANNEL, where they went to the secondary crash site, and recovered oxidized rubber components from the ground. There was a rut, not to mention caves. YET... we are told by Birnes and crew that this place had never been excavated for debris.

Utter BULLSHIT.

Bill Birnes is about as relevant to the UFOLOGY, as KAL KORFF. They both serve the same purpose. To waste people's time promoting a bunch of shit nobody should pay attention to.

I mean that with every fiber of my being. I'm sorely tempted to publish my own UFO related magazine.

Fuck it. I WILL.

I am throwing down the gauntlet.

I'll buy every issue of the magazine you print, but please no mention of Roswell. I'm so "Roswell-ed" out I could die. What will you call the mag? I think your post plants the seed. . .how about "The UFO Gauntlet"?

If I hear about Roswell one more goddamned time, I will vomit.

I am convinced that Roswell more than any other incident, is totally fraudulent.

Here's why.

Just prior to that event, Kevin Arnold sees these scallop winged craft skimming along. An ME-262, the precursor to our Flying Wing fits the fucking bill. No matter how ridiculous it sounds, I firmly believe that we brought over, and re-engineered GERMAN technology.

When you read about Roswell, what other stuff was going on that day in history? Roswell was a distraction. What bothers me more than anything else, is the fact that Jesse Marcel Sr. who was an officer, who could have just as easily saved a fragment or two from the so called Alien Wreckage, never did. Something so important to Human History, and Marcel makes the colossal blunder of a fucking lifetime?

I'd like to think that our military people are better than that.

I've seen some weird shit in my life, but after having been on this retarded assed planet for nearly 40 years, I've learned a lot of shit about how people and governments get over on the average citizen and I can tell you with complete honesty that there are plenty of folks who if they had a chance to keep something that would change human history, they would. I know I would, because in 1947, we'd been out of World War II, and if we found that we were being visited by aliens, it would have brought a more lasting and unified peace to this world overnight.

People would have come together immediately, because we were all still feeling pretty good about what we'd done.

The utter hubris and idiocy that has been shown in the Roswell case is staggering, and when you have experts, and scientists regurgitating the dumbest fucking shit, it tells me that there's nothing to see in regards to that event. It's utter bullshit across the board.

You will never see a reference to Roswell in anything I decide to publish, other than to make fun of other people who pretend it really happened.

Having just watched the most recent Larry King episode on Ufo's,one question popped into my head: - Is Bill Birnes an Idiot?

Did he wear those patented Bill Birnes sunglasses during the interview?
How about the hat?
Any product placement?

You know he supports the Paracast right? Try to go easy on the advertisers. Or buy a year's worth of Bill Birnes is an Idiot advertising. I'm sure they could create a great banner ad for that.

Sorry but integrity doesn't allow me to go easy on a guy that proclaims that a kid he knows for less than a day is an "alien human hybrid". No testing mind you. No DNA or any other sort of scientific test. Just talks to the guy and proclaims him to be a hybrid. The kid obviously needed counseling. I am not saying that because of the hybrid thing. I am saying it because it was painfully obvious to 90% of the people that saw the show. Not Birnes though. Nope. He just saw an "alien human hybrid".

I am sure he supports a lot of good causes, ideals, and shows. I doubt that he hates puppies or likes the idea of disfiguring babies. But that doesn't change my opinion that he is bad for Ufology and an excellent example of why the field has an off the charts snicker factor.

It's a shame really cause the UFO Hunters show has a lot of potential. But, I don't think Mr. Birnes can set aside his desire to believe in u.f.o's long enough to have a critical successful show. I still miss Monster Quest and it had nothing to do with Birnes except it was on the same channel.

Amen Tommy! There are SOOO many other cases that are much better that deserve attention and the "R" case is just a big stinky black hole of distraction.
